Isn't fried ice cream the classic mexican restaurant dessert? Although I have to say, I haven't seen it on the menu at one for a while.knights68 wrote:That'll be like a baked Alaska, right?Lavabe wrote:Ice Cream.

We can't forget the fact that the Scots fry everything - and I do mean everything. Shit, we even invented the deep fried Mars Bar (which led directly to Wilson's deep fried Snickers).

Sort of. Fried ice cream is the classic American idea of what should be on the menu of in a Mexican restaurant. I have yet to see fried ice cream on a menu in a restaurant in Mexico.bjornolf wrote:Isn't fried ice cream the classic mexican restaurant dessert? Oh, and while I agree with you 100%, I HAVE seen fried ice cream on a menu in both Tijuana and Mexico City. So there.

Last year at the NC State Fair the rage was deep fried pee-can pie.
Now that might just bring this thread back on topic again. Briefly.

I wouldn't eat anything, fried or not, that is in any way connected to a pee can.

I made reference to the same last year when Lavabe and I chuckled about our MIL's pronunciation of the nut that is shaped like an olive and has a smooth, thin shell.(pi kahn, pi kan, or pee-kan) That's as close as I get without a special keyboard, folks.colchar wrote:devildeac wrote:Last year at the NC State Fair the rage was deep fried pee-can pie.

They'll deep fry ANYTHING. If you check the menu, they have fried chocolate (Snickers, Twix, Reese's, Mars, etc...). They also do a TWICE-fried cherry pie.
They also have a GREAT assortment of brews to be paired with what you eat.
CellR: check the soccer ads.
Cheers,
Lavabe

I must believe that the only brews to be paired with that kinda stuff are a Zocor Pale Ale and a Zetia Stout. :roll:Lavabe wrote:This place was featured on the Food Network's Unwrapped:

Re: The Deep Fried Thread
Deep fried Coke was pretty gross.
Deep fried Oreos are great, but after just one I'm done.
I can only eat about half a deep fried Snickers. Too rich.
Deep fried Twinkies are "classic."
I'm really disturbed by the thought of deep fried butter.
