Well, this eye is pretty ouchy, but I'm hoping that after a night of rest it will be better. It's too early to see what the results will be.

DukeRah ( AKA Facultidaughter) is safely tucked in on the second floor of Duke North awaiting tomorrow's procedures, whatever they turn out to be. Tilly mentioned that she'd try to stop by for a few minutes on her way home. She's a precious little mother hen. I appreciated it since I couldn't go over.

The ol' prof's flight arrived safely and on time from London. So now we are all in one place.

All of the CTN " :wizard:s" came through cyber space today. We could feel 'em everywhere we went. Thanks to one and all.
Love, Ima

Vibes, prayers, and some extra 9Fs from Kansas. I'm so sorry to hear that DukeRah had to check back into the hospital. I hope you woke up with rested eyes and clear vision to continue the family fight.

Lover from Kansas.

Good news! Next question is how are you doing today? How are you the day after your procedure?

Hold the phone! Turns out this isn't as great as at first glance. They sent her home even sicker than she went in. Higher fever, more swelling and pain and with only a guess at the right antibiotic (no cultures or sensitivity tests). She tried everything to speak to her doctor first, but they gave her no choice but to leave. She finally reached the resident on the phone after she got home. He says nobody told him her fever had gone over 101. The nurses told her they had called and told somebody! So our question is "who"? She was finally able to reach her surgeon this evening who says he'll check in with her tomorrow. Big deal. Soooo the buck stops where? Our faith in Duke hospital is really, really shaky right now. This junk is really getting old.
Love, Ima

This really sucks. There is no excuse for passing the buck in medicine.
