We are going to have to score a lot of points to win and in order to score a lot of points we are going to have to have balance on offense. Run the damn ball to open up the field. I fear we will be pass happy.

Over/under on how many carries Sirk gets today?

Sirk carried the ball 143 times over 11 games or 13 times per game. Those numbers are slightly skewed by sacks so I'll say 10 carries is a reasonable over/under.

When we kicked our 1st FG, I made a comment that FGs weren't going to win the game for unless it was 45-42 ;)

Native's family is made up entirely of Tarheels and Woofies -- over a dozen of them all totaled with one State fan being particularly full of the hate bug for Duke. We were having dinner with them all during the second half tonight. I'd say at 4 to one the odds were about right. If Skura could face four Hoosier captains all by himself for the coin toss, surely we could handle our crowd. This team made it easy for us and never went away. We didn't either.
So proud and joyful for this team. Bless their hearts.

Even if you subtract the amazing 75 yard run, he still gets ~ 80 yards on 19 carries for a very respectable 4.2 YPC. If he can develop some "touch" and our receivers next year some Vernon/Varner/Crowder hands, he'll be very, very good.
