Love reading your Recruiting recaps every week. I know almost everything about who we have on the field now, but it is great to get some quality insight on future guys. Can't wait for the game Saturday!

State's leading receiver, Bryan Underwood, is out for the season. I'm unsure if he was hurt against Carolina or prior to the Carolina game.

I'm hearing Brandon Braxton could be out against State. We should know more tomorrow.

Yup, Cut says he is "doubtful" at the minimum. The Wolfpack still don't know who gets the QB start against us.
Doeren said Monday either Brandon Mitchell or Pete Thomas will start against Duke this Saturday. Doeren benched Mitchell in the fourth quarter of a 27-19 home loss to North Carolina and said he wants to see how the graduate transfer will respond.

“I’m not going to give up on Brandon and I’m not going to anoint the other guy either,” Doeren said. “I think we’re in a position as a team where we may have to play both.”

Too early to start a UNC thread, so I'll just throw this up here. Per a Mark Watson tweet, QB Bryn Renner's career is over due to a shoulder injury.

Yup..but his backup has seen action in the last three games so he's not coming in cold. :9f:

Really wish I could, but just not possible now. I live in Macon GA and have 3 little ones under 6. It's just not easy to pull off. My goal is to get to 1 Duke game per year. Next year that will likely be GaTech as Duke plays in Atlanta. Two years from now, I should be able to take the 2 boys. My youngest one went with me to the Virginia game several years ago when Desmond Scott went around the end for a TD. He was pretty young, but still had a blast. Probably more related to bounce houses, face painting, and pizza, but I'll take it. He's asked me about going to another game several times. It'll happen, I just need to plan a little better.

I'm really sorry to hear Renner's career is over... I didn't want him to end on a win, but I don't like injuries.

Considering all the injuries, we would seem to have a great opportunity. Even as a fan though, I think I'll take it one game at a time. With the injuries on other teams great things are possible, but Duke winning out will still involve considerable focus by our team. Small slips in coverage, dropped passes, or line play can lose ball games. Our talent differential has improved and with the coaching/conditioning work our guys have had, I'm not so sure were not just flat ahead of NC State and Wake. Still, small mistakes can lose games. Coaches have to plan well and players have to execute. It's all a tall order for another 4 games.

I'm cautiously optimistic.....

We'll miss you. Turn on the TV/radio and scream loudly. We'll listen closely for your cheers. We have 3 children and, many moons ago, they were ages 8, 6 and 1.5. They are now 31, 29 and 24.5. Enjoy your time with them now.

Speaking of injuries, Heather Dinich posted about injuries affecting "the elite players" of the ACC. For once, we are finally not being bitten by the injury bug (knock on wood), AND three of the four teams we have left have suffered pretty major losses. Not to say they won't still be tough games to win, they will be, but it sure doesn't hurt our chances.
Injuries have robbed the ACC of some of its brightest stars this fall, sidelining an All-ACC cast of characters. Maryland wide receiver Stefon Diggs, Miami running back Duke Johnson, North Carolina quarterback Bryn Renner, Wake Forest receiver Michael Campanaro – all of them record-setters at their respective schools, and among the best in the conference and country at their positions – have all suffered season-ending injuries.

I can just imagine Bob Green twisting the arms and legs of his NCSU, Miami, WFU and unc football/voodoo dolls as I type this and muttering something about ambulances. :ymdevil: :ymdevil:
