It's really starting to hit me what a loss Whitney Houston is to the music world. I really wish she could have been with us longer and especially be here for her daughter who will undoubtedly battle the same demons her mother and father battled.

Whitney's last days on the INSIDER.

Presciption meds and alcohol do not mix.

Someone lost a Mother (Bobby Kristina) and someone lost a daughter (Cissy Houston) on that sad Saturday in Hollywood.

The Grammy Awards did a wonderful job in reworking their show to give Tribute to Whitney on Sunday. I found it very moving that LL Cool J led a prayer, and the sensational Jennifer Hudson's renedition of "I Will Always Love you" had everyone in tears.

How many more lives have to be cut short with Drugs (whether illegal, prescription meds, combination of both and alcohol)... will lead to Death. (Whitney, Amy Winehouse, Heath Ledger, etc).

I saw on the news last night, where the LA police/detective or CSI are doing an investigation of the doctors where all the prescriptions for Whitney came from.

Also, heard, she was partly clothed, and fell into the bathtub, with her head in the bathtub, and body on the floor of the bathroom.

I am sure we have all heard, that Whitney was to never take a bath, without supervision, Just Showers.

I know I get light headed drinking champagne, and I cant imagine taking a Benzo (sleeping aid or depressant) to mix with it. Still so sad. And her former bodyguard made a statement the other day.

GONE too Soon.

Yeah, blame the doctors (rolling eyes). (not directing this at you Prada). Whitney had a right to them. AND she had a right to abuse them (if she did). Personal responsibility. Period.

And nothing against Whitney. Loved her voice. She was troubled. But this attack on doctors hurts all of us, for many reasons.

I completely agree with EJ. People with money/celebrity will always find someone to say 'yes' to whatever they want...people who say 'no' are replaced by people who will say 'yes'. If you can afford to see multiple doctors (in multiple states/cities) and fill multiple scripts that's on you.

If you tell your doctor you have panic attacks or anxiety that's all he/she has to go one to determine if you need Xanax (or similar). You can't prove/disprove panic attacks with a lab test. Your doctor can tell you 'do NOT mix with alcohol...but they don't follow you around smacking that gin and tonic our of your hands.

I can't imagine what Dr Murray was thinking giving propofol in a home environment (and not monitoring the patient) but there is no also no doubt in my mind that if Dr Murray had said 'oh hell no' MJ would have found someone else in a New York minute.

t is tragic for her family...but Whitney is dead because of her choices.

True. And like you said, celebrities are going to “get theirs.” Punish all the doctors (and their patients by doing so) all you want. It will in NO way affect the Hollywood or Celebrity community. Nil, Nothing, Nada.

The only people harmed/punished will be the normal folk – 1) doctors, dentists, etc. who will be scared shitless to prescribe the very thing that can truly help their patients to provide relief and 2) regular patients.

Where is the same outcry and action on alcohol? Last I checked, alcohol kills hundreds of thousands each year and contributes to fatal vehicle wrecks, crime, domestic abuse, public violence, cartwheels at 3:00 a.m., etc. It is an extremely powerful drug. Yet, you can get all you want right next to the frozen foods in the grocery store! (Not knocking on alcohol at all, by the way. My career stats speak for themselves. Just knocking the hypocrisy of it all).

I didn't write it! I'm simply passing along Stevie Wonder's letter. And do you all think I know braille? I know lots of things, but not braille. :-B

I think that the autopsy is going to reveal what 20+ years of cocaine abuse will do to the human heart.

Prescription meds may have been a contributing factor, but don't discount the cumulative damage that all that tooting did to Whitney's ticker.

Told you so!
