The prize is only $100, but that will buy a lot of beer.

:9f:
That's interesting. We haven't done anything with sauces, although I'm sure TNT has more than a few of his own. King's Mountain is the first time I'm doing something other than vinegar based. Usually when I'm at home, I'll just mix different commercial sauces that I like, but for for this weekend I actually came up with 2 of my own tomato based recipes (that I even bothered to write down and keep track of). Since this cookoff is in the western part of the state, and they like their' maters, I figured it was worth a shot. I used one of them this Sunday on my last practice run and got rave reviews by the neighbors....but they aren't the ones judging. Thanks for the link, I'll enter one of my sauces and see what the N&O thinks. :happy-bouncyblue:

Well, get that required optional item in there and submit it!

I'm hoping you'll win the $100.00.

Adam and I arrived at Emerald Isle around 8:30 tonight. I had a taste of DukePa's BBQ sauce and sauce going on the shrimp burgers. I approve. They are really great. Good luck to all of you this weekend. You all are the best. :-BD \:d/ :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I talked to her on the phone tonight, I didn't know she had done her own too until she told me...that rocks! I also told her she needs to submit hers to the N&O. :happy-bouncyblue: :D :duke:

I just figured if he submitted Ed Mitchell's photo with his application and sauce that there would be NO way he could lose ;) .

I hope one of you wins the N&O sauce prize this year, because next year I'm entering and I'm a shoo in! I'd have entered this year but my recipe makes three gallons and I have to do the math and cut it down to a practical size. Math was never my thing. It's gonna take me til next year to figure it out. :-\

Actually, a Friday night visit with the TBCC is quite entertaining.

I speak from experience.
