I was watching for your post. VDB, since you guys run a verrrrry close second to the OP and me. We'll be counting number 52 in about a month. Our oldest "kid" is pushing fifty.

The secret? It's one word .... TRUST. Sooner or later you will disagree, hurt or be hurt, get bored with one another, even love or just put up with one another, but trusting in each other's character is the one thing that's mandatory. Don't you agree?

A reporter interviewed a couple recently who had been married 50 years and asked them what their secrets were for a long marriage. Both spouses gave their respective answers and the reporter was duly impressed. The wife was then asked if she had considered divorce at any time during their 50 years of marriage and she replied, "Absolutely not. Divorce is not an option. Murder, yes, but not divorce."
