A news conference this morning is suppose to name the interim coach.
ALL the recruits, transfer or freshman, knew what they were getting into. This scandal has been going on for 13 months. The Board of Trustees really handed down a major sentence yesterday and It is heard around the NCAA DIV 1 football nation. The firing of Butch Davis is not shocking, only the timing of the termination. Should have happened after the season of 2010. Will be interesting to see what Chancellor Thorpe says this morning.

So, according to CNNSI.com, it looks like TarHoleLand is going to lose $2.7 million in Davis' contract buyout, and they're facing lots of issues:

Have I ever mentioned how much fun it is to work with UNC grads on a day like today?
I don't have to say a thing.
Of course, I don't want to say too much in the event that I need to eat those words in 4 years, should the need arise to send my child to the light blue side.
They've all run home several times today--first to watch the presser at 11 this morning, and then to watch the news this afternoon.

The rats are leaving the sinking ship. Here is part of a comment from the ESPN article regarding the promotion of Everett Withers.
How about all of those games where the defense was torched by QB's like Ponder, Harris, R. Wilson, and Tyrod Taylor? Did you happen to notice how Withers' entire scheme was based on this sissy coverage shell where he dropped the LB's back, only to have the opposing QB hit the seam between the LB's and DB's to destroy them?
You're right; I'm not a true fan because I'm intelectually honest about my favorite team. Excuse the hell out of me. I just don't look at the rosy stats
And it's not like Withers ONLY terrible DC job was at UNC. I seem to recall Minnesota giving up national debt-like numbers on defense during his tenure up there.
Terrible, terrible move by UNC. If the Heels win more than four games this year, I will be shocked beyond all belief.
