Richard had a side business, raising rabbits. He finally gave it up when everybody began to refer to him as 'Harey Dick'.

As a kid I remeber seeing a tshirt on game day that said "I'd rather have herpes than Dick Crum".CathyCA wrote:There was that UNC football coach: Dick Crum.
Thanks for reminding me that you were a KID then. That's a good way to make an old lady feel older.CameronBornAndBred wrote:As a kid I remeber seeing a tshirt on game day that said "I'd rather have herpes than Dick Crum".CathyCA wrote:There was that UNC football coach: Dick Crum.
If it makes you feel any better, I've never, ever heard of Dick Crum. ;)CathyCA wrote:Thanks for reminding me that you were a KID then. Oh, that makes me feel YEARS better.wilson wrote:If it makes you feel any better, I've never, ever heard of Dick Crum. ;)
No, I really haven't. 1987 is the very leading edge of my memories of just about anything, and with regard to sports, I was really only interested in Duke basketball at the time. For the sake of reference, Danny Ferry is the first "favorite player" of whom I have any clear memories. This era would have been well before I knew much of anything about players/coaches at other schools.CathyCA wrote:...Seriously. You've never heard of him?
Oh my. I'm old enough to be your mother. I am, however, a little surprised that I've never heard of Dick Crum before...it is indeed a pretty unfortunate moniker.
