All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost.

Because he is now unemployed, the change makes a difference. You should be able to pick him up on your insurance now. You don't have to wait for "open season, with no preexisting conditions. If this were me, I would call my insurance company to get things started. Good luck.lawgrad91 wrote:The insurance won't go up, but I'm not sure if I'm eligible for a window to get him in on insurance, or if I have to wait until the new fiscal year in July.Very Duke Blue wrote:Sorry to hear this. Too many jerks in the world. Does B have to do cobra before your insurance? If not, you might compare to see if there is any difference in the cost. Does the State insurance cost go up for someone with a health issue? I've never heard this. Insurance has changed a lot since I worked with it at Duke. If this were me, I would ask questions. Best of luck to you & B plus many vibes.

Life change events (marriage, divorce, birth of child, loss of job by a spouse) allow you to add/remove from your health plan during the year. Documentation may or may not be required.
