Back in the "good ole days," the fall semester at Duke started around the third week of September and ended well into January. Semester break separated the two semesters and was when fraternity rush + lots of parties took place.CameronBornAndBred wrote:I think it's beyond bizarre that semesters now end after the holiday break.

My DVR is working hard tonight. Chuck and House at 8, Heroes and Fringe at 9, then Castle at 10. So much TV , so few hours...

Villinova, unlike any team I've seen this year, has shown an ability to fragnificate in crucial situations like no other. Very impressive, and a sign of great coaching.

Yes..but I'm talking about high school..which ended in December with exams taken before Christmas. Now they take them after the break.Devil in the Blue Dress wrote:Back in the "good ole days," the fall semester at Duke started around the third week of September and ended well into January. Re: Not a Typical Monday Night, so???
High schools have come full circle regarding when the semester ends and when exams are taken. When the school year begins as well as the type of schedules in place tend to dictate when the semester ends.CameronBornAndBred wrote:Yes..but I'm talking about high school..which ended in December with exams taken before Christmas. For a number of years, high schools (and other public schools) ended first semester about the third week in January. One year stands out in my memory because on a day late in January heavy snow began to fall so quickly in Durham that we couldn't get the buses out on the roads. That big snow ended the first semester a few days early.

I can't believe over 1 minute has passed and no score, and finally NOVA hits a layup for 2. L'Ville for foul shouts! Sosa - clangs the first and 2nd goes with 50 sec to go. Score is 88 to 83
