I can devote my full vibes to BD now - my good friend just finished with a time 3:23:49 -
Congrats to my buddy Elton (his 3rd Boston!) and Go Lisa Go
Yay Elton!!!
And his time is way under the 3:30 he needed to qualify for next year in his (45-50) age group. He told me he was going to run 3:20-3:25 - right on the money - his mile pace didn't alter by more than a few seconds the whole way!

Bostondevil has passed the 25k mark, the website goes up to 40k. I know a marathon is 26.2 miles, not sure how that breaks down in terms of kilometers.

BD is still on pace to finish in under 6 hours.

Go BD, go!!!

42.195 is a marathon.
Don't panic if they don't post a 40k - Elton's has never posted. About the time I think the has fallen down or quit his official finishing time comes up.

GO BD GO

IIRC, the bottom of Heartbreak Hill is at mile 21. She should be coming down the backside of Heartbreak Hill. I believe she is doing much better at this point of the marathon than she did last year.

Really! I thought it was longer than that. That doesn't seem so bad, what are all those runners complaining about? ;)

At 36k they turn on to Beacon Street and it is a straight shot to the finish (there is on sharp turn at the very end but if you get that far you don't notice I guess!) Elton tells me you get a big boost when you make that turn...and another one when you go under the Mass. Turnpike and see Fenway Park from there <quoting elton> you could crawl in on your hands and knees.

It is actually a whole string of hills (aka 'the Newton Hills' but Heartbreak is the longest and last)
