Not boring. You are just starting. Enjoy every road you drive on.
That's impossible in PA. We have the worst roads in the country. I don't even try to avoid potholes anymore, it's not worth the effort.

But in all seriousness I realize my journey is just beginning and by the fall I will most likely add another state to the list.

Wait... I thought it was a done deal that you were going to Miami (OH)...?

It was a done deal until they didn't give me a dime of financial aid. So now Syracuse is in the mix and though much more expensive, I also received a decent amount of aid. And Pitt is still in the running too. Deadline to commit is May 1, so I don't have much time to decide.

Oh wow, what a bummer. You're still looking at 2 good schools, though, so I doubt you can make a "wrong" decision. Have you visited both? Are you leaning towards one?

I have visited both and I would say I'm leaning towards Syracuse.

FWIW, Oxford is full of incredibly attractive young women. I used to go down there quite a bit when I'd be home from Duke to visit friends.

Oh believe me I know, I've been there 3 or 4 times. Unfortunately its probably not going to work out.

We military brats, especially, have a tendency to live places multiple times. ;)

Oh yeah! One of the reasons I avoided military service was that I didn't think I would enjoy moving so often. As a child, I didn't appreciate the moving around so frequently. After graduating from high school in 95, I've lived in 3 states, 10 cities, 15 homes. I'm really glad that I opted out of service to avoid all that moving around.

You might get to root for Greg Paulus as your quarterback if you go to the 'Cuse!

I'll have to tally the extended stays (longer than a weekend or day) in other states as that list is much longer!

Ah, but were you dazed AND cofused? ;)

On a related note, I've been living in a state of grace for quite a while now.

Hmmm... How long qualifies as "living in?" I am assuming that a summer is good enough - i.e. anything more than a regular vacation?

If so, then:

Florida (birth - age 2 or 3)
Michigan (age 2 or 3 to 17)
Indiana (Purdue - summer after 8th grade)
New York (Cornell - summer after 11th grade)
North Carolina (age 17 - 23; undergrad at Duke, grad School at UNC)
Georgia (age 23 - present)

I lived in Ithaca too. Small world! Though I was there for 4 years.
