Argh. I didn't get on the internet on Monday until we got home. Next trip, I'll get you some. But probably not until July, since they are coming here a couple of times in June. Of course, if you want, I'll have them bring it with them. Let me know.

Here are a couple of additional "shelf shots" I took at the Bulldog. Anything else strike your fancy?

All that stuff is available at Total WIne except 4 packs of Ten Fidy (occasionally) and the Gub'na. I'll take a 4 pack of each and will share with CB&B. If he's nice ;) :D .

I can't make out the brewer's name for the porter on the top shelf (second to the left), it looks interesting. I've had everything else except for the Left Hand Polestar Pilsner which would be worth trying, but is probably available at TW.

Looks like an Eel River label..Ten Fidy is definitely the best of the bunch but some very nice beers overall.

Is Gub'na also by Ten Fidy? I don't see that label in any of the pictures.

The Oscar Blues Brewing Company brews Ten Fidy, Gub'na, Dale's Pale Ale, Old Chub and Mama's Little Pils. I have never had Gub'na but rmd and bluebeer really like it. I have never seen in at TW or at the Liquor Barn in Lexington. I've never tasted the Pils, well, because it's a pilsner and I don't drink many of them.

You'll like it. It's a great beer, like whatstheirfaces' Uber Pils (oh yeah, Heavy Seas..took me a minute). A really good lager is a different beer, and one to enjoy. That's why I'm interested in the Left Hand Polestar.

I stopped by local Wegmans up the street to get a chocolate cheesecake for my sister's little cookout on Monday and I noticed a HUGE sign, Wegman's just opened up a new section featuring over 700 different beers! I didn't stop by to check it out on Monday, but I think I found a new store to find traders at! Woo hoooo!!!!!! P.S. It is right up 95 about 5 minutes from me, right off 95 on Dale Blvd heading towards Rt. 1. ;) :-BD

That sounds like a great selection from which to choose when you replace those 6 beers I brought you in April ;) :D .

Report from Vegas.
Went to Lee's Discount Liquor tonight, not a huge selection of beer, but what they have makes for good shopping, and the guys working there are knowledgeable and more than willing to start a discussion on beer. I left tonight with 4 bombers, the one I'm opening is DFH Fort. I've never had it, and due to the 18%ABV never seen it. Brewed with raspberries, it's really a flavored version of the 120. Really, really, really good beer. I'm tempted to return tomorrow and pick one up for Brunchgate. The price was very nice, at $15 for the bomber. For a hard to find and excellent brew, that's worth it.

Dear God, don't ask me WHAT made me look at this thread, other than maybe I was curious about what CB&B was drinking in LV... so let me comment on Lee's. It's awesome. I can't speak as to beer selection, but the employees know their stuff and their prices are usually stellar. I highly recommend Lee's if you're in Vegas. Also can recommend Total Wine, as one just move in a few months ago. Finally, the Suncoast & Orleans hotel/casinos have very small selections of wine (akin to the grocery stores), but amazingly, the best prices in town.

There you have it, my quarterly post... in a thread I don't belong anywhere near. :ymsmug:

They also have lots of stores here..I got the impression from talking to the clerk that each has different brews, they let their managers decide what to bring in. I'm sure there are lots they have at all places, but check a couple for comparison.

I have seen it in DC and at Liquor Barn but never bought it because it was about $20 for the 750 ml bottle. I do have my limits. :(( :((

A long day. After this week ends very near by tornados, I decided to unwind with a long bike ride. Following the ride I stopped at my local beer market and picked up a sixer of Star Island Single by Smuttynose. Sat out on the deck and grilled chicken and drank beer. They bill the beer on the label as a session ale brewed with spices. I do not know if it was the ride or just being in a decompressing mood, but the stuff was very drinkable for me. I have not had a Smuttynose product for some time. Sort of a Blue Moon taste, but not as much of the floral after taste if you know what I mean.

Biere de Boucaniere-Van Steenberg

Reviewed sometime last fall after a Bruchgate. This one is now about 9 months into its aging and I just could not wait any longer :ymblushing: :D . It is a Belgian golden ale with a slightly cloudy, yellow-orange color, fine Belgian lace and a nose of pineapple (even Mrs. DD agrees with me here :D ) that finishes with pear and apple flavors, too. A bit yeasty and caramel-y and boozey at 11% ABV. I'd guess the IBU at 30-40 with Hallertau, Saaz and Spalt hops and pilsner malt. This is even better aged as I recall it from last fall and would be great with grilled chicken or seafood with some fruity/spicy chutney or salsa. Would also be marvelous as a dessert brew with a plate of fruit or lighter to medium-bodied cheeses. I had this as 1/2 a 750 ml corked and caged bottle over 2 nights but believe it is also available as 330 ml singles or as part of a brewery 6er with a dark/dubble ale and a triple. Any way you can see your way to a taste of this would be very pleasing to your palate.
