Re: The Official "Good Morning" Thread
When the Monkees released that song, I lived on Clarksville Drive in Scotland Neck, North Carolina, which was and is still a backwater town. I just KNEW that the Monkees were not taking the last train to Clarksville because the train tracks didn't run anywhere near our street! But anyway, it was fun to sing along to that song and imagine that Davy Jones might show up at my house.lawgrad91 wrote:when I was young, I thought the song referred to Clarksville, Virginia, a backwater town if ever there was one, and couldn't figure out why anyone would want to go there.YmoBeThere wrote:Good morning!
Does that song sound anything like Last Train to Clarksville?lawgrad91 wrote: Last day in Charlottesville.

My sophomore college roommate was from Clarksville, Va. Went there once for a weekend. Not so bad.

I'm staying up until it's 1am again.
Good morning! If you haven't turned your clocks back yet, go ahead and do it now.

My internal clock has black hair, runs around on 4 paws and meows if I don't get up and feed her. The meowing only comes after the slow steady tap of a single claw on my face. As she has gotten older, she has shifted her time back a bit. It used to be 4 AM, it is now 4:30 AM.

Fascinating - I have a gray tabby version of that clock...YmoBeThere wrote:My internal clock has black hair, runs around on 4 paws and meows if I don't get up and feed her. I miss my gray tabby. She was missing a sock, but that didn't hold her back.
