Hey folks...nothing new to report at the moment except that I am having the MRI in a couple of hours and then seeing my family doctor this afternoon.

Hey folks...just a quick update.

I had the MRI done on Thursday and it was a nightmare! They had to immobilize the foot for the scan but, in doing so, they placed it in a position that hurt like hell and the frame (don't know what else to call it) that they used to immobilize it felt like a vice against the ankle the whole time. I've never had a problem with any MRI before, and usually just take a nap the entire time, but the pain was simply too much to handle so I was forced to have them take me out of the machine and give me a half hour break before resuming the scan.

The ankle has been rather sore since then so, although that might normally be a sign that the infection was back, I am hoping that the increased pain is simply the result of the MRI.

I am seeing my family doctor Monday to get some more percocet so hopefully he will have the results by then. If not, I'll get them later in the week.

Continued vibes and prayers, Colchar! Hopefully your pain is from the angle your ankle was in for the MRI.

The pain in the ankle is worse today than it was yesterday, but is still better than it was last week and especially the week before, so it is a good thing I'm going to see my family doctor tomorrow.

Wow! I'm just back from visting your homeland. (Edinburgh is my new favorite city in the whole world and my newest life goal in running is to "compete" in the Culloden Moor 10k one of these years.) Healing vibes and I hope it all starts to get seriously better soon!

Edinburgh is nice. I'm from the opposite side of the country (just south of Glasgow) but I don't mind Edinburgh.

I got the MRI results back today and it was clear - there is no infection in the bone.

My doctor thinks the extra pain was just caused by how they immobilized the foot when the MRI was done. As he said, the technologist might not have grasped just how inflamed and painful the area was. He sent me to have the ankle x-rayed again but that was clear so it is most likely just a soft tissue problem (considering how damaged the tissue in that area is, I am not at all surprised by this).

As a bonus, however, he did prescribe another 50 Percocet :D
