Bud is much better this morning. He went to bed with an ice pack on the swelling and he is walking almost normal.

We got to Kerr Lake around 1:00. It's just beautiful. Harley is busy caring around a 3" log. Bud is working on the roof.

Work. Right now I'm waiting for a call from a friend; we're going to Ted Drewe's for frozen custard (the supper of champions!).

I have turned the correct direction out of my neighbor every day this week to report to the new job location. Need to start a pool on what day I will forget and turn right instead of left.

just got in from Corolla, NC - picked up hubby from the end of his Cycle NC ride. They had a wonderful (and safe week). We climbed the Currituck lighthouse, toured the Whalehead Club and rode to the end of the paved road - didn't see any wild horses.

Today was retail therapy day. After getting my hair cut and colored, I went to Gordman's and Kohl's via Ted Drewe's. Had an All Shook Up concrete (peanut butter cups and bananas). Found 2 cardigans and a cute pair of shoes at Gordman's. Didn't see anything at Kohl's that I needed.

I didn't leave the lake today. Harley and I did a lot of playing ball. One of his friends came over (another lab) and joined us. We all had a great day.

We went to Blowing Rock and Boone - drove on the Blue Ridge Parkway to get there. The leaves are "near peak", although this won't be a great year because of the summer weather, recent rains and many of the mountain top leaves have already turned brown. Still, it was very pretty! Bought some winter clothes for Ruthie and had pizza at Primo's in the Boone Mall - highly recommended by me! DD, you'd like it.

Last night we had had dinner at Duffy Street Seafood in OD. A fantastic meal was had by all. Highly suggested. The mate's cousin's wife works there, while he has a street presence with his pet Macaw that does tricks and poses for pictures with the passers-by.

After breakfast at the House of Blues Gospel Brunch, we will meander a bit around Barefoot Landing before the drive back home.

I miss ol' Willie.

I'm back from Rocky Mount. I decided to come home last night so I could wake up in my own bed. There's no place like home, especially since I'm lucky enough to live on an island

He didn't tear the hammy. Thank goodness. He has a huge bruise. Motorcycles are going to be the death of him. He was walking it out of the garage and cut to sharp. It feel on him. I keep hoping he will give them up.
