Smithfield is projected for 3 to 6" tomorrow night, but on grassy surfaces only. The roads will be too warm for it to stick there - it'll be close to 50 degrees here this afternoon, and may never get below freezing at ground level tomorrow night. Very strange.

It is strange to think of snow with such warm weather. Just enough wet to make mud again. :( :( I do enjoy watching snow come down. :)

Currently snowing in Atlanta. My students apparently think I'm going to let them out early due to perilous conditions.
Except it started snowing about half an hour ago, and there's no way any of this will stick.

It's 39 right now with a project low of 31.
We noticed a little snow last week as we were going to bed. It didn't stick but was still fun to watch fall. We expect the same again tonight.

Just think how much more time you'll have to put smilies in posts if you just let them go early....

The weather event has started around Winston-Salem! The flakes began to fall around 11:30A or so..... small, peppery and wet. The rate of flakes falling has been fluctuating up an down with no particular pattern apparent. Streets are wet/damp, but no sticking at this time. The temperature has peaked at 39 degrees. Temperatures are expected to move down toward freezing beginning no later than mid afternoon.

We shifted over to all snow in the past fifteen minutes or so. At times the snow is coming down pretty heavily. It's beginning to accumulate ever so slightly on scrubs, mulch and some grassy areas. Roads continue to be wet, not frozen. Weather maps are showing the beginning of the snow bands blowing into this region.

It's raining here. I went out to get the mail and it felt more like sleet hitting my jacket, but I didn't see pellets bouncing off, so I guess they were just heavy rain drops ;)

The grass now has a nice accrual of snow, but not enough to make for a smooth surface. The snow continues to fall as does the temperature. It's fallen to 34 degrees in the past couple of hours. Think I'll take a break and have some coffee. ~O) ~O) ~O)

We've now shifted over to the big wet flakes which continue to fall steadily. The snow is beginning to adhere to the sidewalk and driveway, so I guess it's time to head out and sprinkle some ice melt.

It's snowing here now. Big flakes and I think there is some rain mixed in.

Still just rain in Durham. But every once in a while I hear a scratchy sound on my office windows, so maybe it's switching over to something frozen.

Dodging a bullet here in Atlanta. The snow has stopped, with no accrual.
