Today's court tip is: if you are in need, use the facility before you go to court, or the Judge may scare the piss out of you. Literally.

Good morning! Opened up the windows a few hours ago. I filled up the bird feeders and am letting the other residents of the household enjoy the sights and sounds. Not likely we'll get many more days like this(low 70's in the morning) until September or October.

Re: The Official "Good Morning" Thread
So, yesterday's defendant was in court for felony eluding police and several misdemeanors. He was on bond, so he showed up to court in civilian garb. The judge (normally a laid-back sort of fellow) took great umbrage at his behavior and sent the felony to Circuit Court, convicted him of misdemeanors and gave him 12 months in jail on at least one of the charges. He then gave the guy a secured bond on the charge calling for active time, meaning the guy had to go to jail until someone came and bonded him out. Not long after he left the courtroom, the bailiff noticed that the seat was soaking wet and there were splashes of, um, fluid all over the floor. She went back to the jail lockup and checked on him, and noticed his pants were soaking wet.shereec wrote:Oh dear! Harrumph.
Loss of power (off at 8:05pm and back on at 12:25am) and early morning court do not go together well.

Good morning!
I witnessed a similar scene in Pasquotank County District Court in the summer of 1985. As Judge Grafton Beamon began his "sentencing speech," I noticed that the defendant's pant leg began to change to a darker color, and a puddle appeared on the plastic chair mat below his feet at the counsel table.
We (the lawyers and law clerks) in the courtroom decided that the defendant was either pissed off, or that the judge had scared the piss out of him.
I was so glad that he was not our client.
There are so many similarities between district court and kindergarten.
