Um, no.
That is an insult to bears everywhere.

Keep 'em comin', LG1 !!!! You've got better courtroom scenarios than "Good Wife"! \:d/

Yes it is a good morning. ANY morning is a good one that doesn't inflict upon you an asinine, 40 minute commencement "speech" by an egomaniacal egghead. I have never been so embarrassed for Duke as yesterday. President Bonehead owes us all one.

Um, no.
If I were crowned Contessa of the Courthouse, I would enact a rule: No T-shirts in the courtroom. Nothing good happens to defendants who wear T-shirts to court.

Who was the egghead? Anyone who gives a 40 minute commencement address should be given the hook at the 15 minute mark.

I'm still awaiting payback from Uncle Terry and his successors for Katharine Graham's commencement speech back in 1984.

(I'm willing to bet that most of you don't know who Katharine Graham was.)

Surely any of us as old as I know who she was. What was so bad about her speech? Had she been writing and believing her own press clippings?

She talked about freedom of the press, and preserving that right for newspapers and publishers. It would have been a GREAT talk for a journalism school graduation ceremony. Her talk was not Duke-specific at all, and it could have been given (and probably was given) at any number of college commencements. YAWN!

William Styron got an honorary award at our commencement. His book, Sophie's Choice, had been adapted to a screenplay, and the star of that film, Meryl Streep, won the Academy Award in 1982 for Best Actress. I wish that he had been the commencement speaker.
