Does 'rhymes with Dumbo' resemble this remark?

Well, I now have less posts over there than earlier today, but that's quite alright. Devil84 whipped out her moderator's eraser and removed lots that had been said. Sometimes, they do the right thing. This was one of those times. Good job D84!

Considering the tone used in many posts, I'm surprised that sort of clean up doesn't happen more often.

That the mods (er, devildeac) can mess with us by posting and closing a thread just to "make us look". :)) :)) :))

I like how people compare me to murderous secret police, repeatedly call me a hypocrite, and tell me to go get psychiatric help near where I live.

Right neighborly.

I like how we encourage public debate. Sometimes the results aren't ideal, and we show our human side. But if you're patient, and try to understand from where the passion comes, you often times learn something about people.

It's a manpower issue. We can't get to everything.

I understand and accept that it's not possible to deal with all the posts which might merit attention. I've learned to ignore rudeness and insults which are part of some of the posts.

I guess what I've noticed over the past six months or so is a change in the overall tone to more confrontational, less tolerant with few consequences. I've not left the site, just reduced my time there and avoided get caught up in circular arguments with people who have no direct contact with Duke or Duke athletes.

Um, nobody compared you to the Stasi. After the "we know who you are" ridiculousness posted by a mod on DBR that comment, and those who would make it, were compared to the Stasi (ie. paranoid idiots). But seriously, get over it already. You can't come over here and act like you would at DBR - in other words, you cannot come here and tell us what we can or cannot discuss. If you don't like it, please feel free to leave as that shit doesn't fly here.

I usually have music on while reading the boards (computer run through my stereo) so a whistling smiley would really freak me out the first time I heard it!
