This is the first of a series I'm going to take a stab at. Night scenes rendered in watercolor are extremely tricky, since the nature of the medium is all about light. It's so easy to paint yourself into a muddy mess with no way to turn back...can't paint over what you don't like. I got the inspiration for these while taking nightly walks with Julie around her neighborhood.

I love the contrast between light and darkness.

Nice. Is that with only the street light shown?

At least it is not this kind of light:

Check out the rating, too:

1.02/5 rDev -91.2%
look: 1.5 | smell: 1 | taste: 1 | feel: 1 | overall: 1

Appearance: Sickly pale yellow with enough carbonation to blow up a school.

Smell: Corn and some lovely rubbing alcohol notes.

Taste: A gob of elmers glue and some stale tortilla chips. The finish is watery with some water notes. HERE WE GO!

Mouthfeel: Water

Overall: Recommended if you hate beer.

That's not my review. It's from Beer Advocate. I tried to copy and paste the Rate Beer review but it would only copy a couple numbers. To summarize, Rate Beer gave budlite a 0 on a 100 scale. Here the link:

Yet Bud Light has been the best selling beer in the USA for the last 5 years, as announced earlier this week. It's been over a year since I've had one, so don't blame me this year!

BTW, Bud had been in the #2 spot until this year. It's fallen to #3, jumped by, can you believe this ... Coors Light. Talk about a beer with NO TASTE! I thought that even when I drank BL.

On my way to a brunchgate one morning, I saw the coolest sunrise coming over this field as I left VDB's house in Efland. Since it was a game day, I had my camera and took a few shots before heading off to Wallace Wade. It was one of those early frosted, chilly mornings. The painting is loose, and some will see water instead of land, but that's fine..I like having options in life. :)

Beautiful, CBB! Count me in the crowd that looked at it and saw water.

Excellent! I can see it both as looking out into the ocean or at a distant, rolling hillside. Very interesting! B-)
