I can do that. Additionally, I'll be able to post from my laptop. We're required to bring one.colchar wrote:ArkieDukie wrote:I'm off to Baltimore tomorrow for big geekfest in the form of a bioinformatics workshop. I have a few hours tomorrow to play tourist. A playwriting friend whose opinion I trust just told me he thought my latest short piece was "lovely, touching, sexy, and sad".

Re: LTE 2.0
I recently volunteered to be an alumni admissions interviewer for Duke. I conducted my first two interviews of HS seniors today. I had a hell of a time. It was a lot of fun.

I stopped doing that Usul, when I just couldn't take the rejection anymore. (None of my interviewees ever seemed to get in.)

I should post this in the talent thread. But I'm not.
Damn, I make a good apple pie.
I'm eating a piece right now. Please excuse my ego but as Dizzy Dean said, "It ain't bragging if you can back it up."

Re: LTE 2.0
Thanks for the viewpoint. I'm fairly certain that one of the young ladies I interviewed will not get in. The other is a very strong candidate and was a joy to talk to - we talked for an hour and a half at a Starbucks and could have kept going, had I not had to leave to pick up a birthday present and get home to MrsUsul. I really do hope she gets in.Bostondevil wrote:I stopped doing that Usul, when I just couldn't take the rejection anymore. (None of my interviewees ever seemed to get in.)

I'm watching the World Series right now.
I had dinner with the home plate umpire's mom earlier this evening.

Re: LTE 2.0
I just saw where the LTE 1.0 has pulled within 300+ posts of 2.0. Some shameful posting over there. ;)
I think one frenzy of going postal here should bury the 1.0. Of course, a little mod action over yonder would also do it in.
