Coming as a total shock to absolutely no one, Trump is fighting on, despite his losses in court.
Before the high court rejected his bid Friday, his campaign announced a cable ad buy to further his fraudulent claims about the election, and he clearly intends to try and meddle in Congress' counting of the Electoral College results in January.

Of course he does have lots of incentive to stay in office.
An investigation into President Trump being conducted by Manhattan prosecutors is reportedly "significantly escalating."
The office of Manhattan district attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. has "stepped up its efforts" to investigate Trump's business conduct, in recent weeks "significantly escalating" the probe by interviewing employees of lender Deutsche Bank and insurance broker Aon, The New York Times reported on Friday. The prosecutors have reportedly issued new subpoenas and questioned witnesses before a grand jury for investigative purposes.

Can’t wait for Trump to face a jury of his peers in Manhattan.

I just can't wait to see him have to testify under oath. He'll be adding perjury to any crimes he is accused of.

The march/protest in Washington today should be interesting. More "Stop the Steal", crap, sponsored by Roger Stone (who has to be cashing in on this, someone is selling all those big branded flags) and religious groups. One of those is a large women's religious group, which will never cease boggling my mind.
One of my friends is going with her mom. Obviously, when we hang out, we don't talk politics.
Silver lining, all of these people are showing up to protest a truly and officially lost cause. Have fun yelling at nobody of importance, and enjoy spending your money on useless crap, folks!
I can't think of a single war where a significant number of people didn't continue to die even after all hope of victory was lost. Nature of the beast, or I should say nature of the beast who leads them.

Whattabunch of spineless morons! Including the three he put there. (That's how I read what he's saying.)
President Donald Trump criticized the US Supreme Court on Friday after it rejected a legal challenge aimed at overturning the results of the 2020 presidential election.
"The Supreme Court really let us down," he said in a tweet. "No Wisdom, No Courage!"

That will be quite something to see.

The last four years of non-stop Trump chaos made me forget what life in America is like with a Democrat as president - non-stop childish potshots from hack members of the media because many Republicans (but definitely not all) refuse to actually focus on discussing policy. I'm sure there will be a lot of whataboutisms about how the media constantly went after Trump, but that was because he was violating all of the norms (and often the laws) of presidential behavior, and many of his public statements were not related to policy but rather talking about how great he was and/or settling grudges. This article is the most childish, sexist, anti-intellectual thing I have read in a major media outlet in years.
I actually don't totally disagree with the author. I have tremendous respect for academic achievement and the anti-intellectualism that has grown in this country over the last four years has been horrifying. But I think that titles are greatly overused - I will call a doctor Dr. in a medical setting, but I'm not going to tell my kid to call his little league coach Dr. Smith instead of Mr. Smith. My mom was a lawyer and used to often roll her eyes when someone used Esq. - she said it usually meant they were an incompetent hack with something to prove. That being said, The Wall Street Journal does not need to be wasting space on this topic, and the demeaning, nasty way in which the author tried to make his point.
So I guess if Melania had completed those last few credits to get her doctorate in prostitution, we wouldn't be allowed to call her Doctor?

I wonder if Trump will pardon Ghislaine Maxwell? I think she is friend of Melania.
On another note...look at Loeffler posing with friends...So many “good people”.

Actually, I agree with CrazyNotCrazie. I have a PhD and really do not like being called “Dr.” outside a professional setting. With that being said, nothing grates more than not being called Dr. when it’s appropriate to do so. In my first teaching job, my students called another female colleague and me “Ms” and the male faculty members “Dr.”. I corrected them until they got it right. So, one question to ask: how much was the author motivated by sexism?
Most people say that is it is the intellect which makes a great scientist. They are wrong: it is character.

If you click on the picture, part of the asshole's caption is "Stop socialism". Which is a-ok OY. But calling these deplorables the fascists that they are gets you a timeout. Actually, not even calling them that but asking if it is in fact allowable.
Which is why I'm not going back even after my punishment has elapsed.

I am done with that thread on OY too. Jason posted yesterday that he is getting PMs from people to close it. Who does that? I mean WHO does that? Too fucking childish all around for me.

I know I've put this up here before, but y'all need to watch this PBS series. This is from the first minute of this episode, tell me who it describes:
"He refuses to engage in the boring day-to-day detail of running a country. He has no interest in the opinions of experts and refuses to read briefings. Instead, he tasks his team with a simple assignment: destroy democracy and make him a dictator."

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I never understood how Hitler rose to power, and stayed there, until Donald Trump came along. Thankfully he was not able to dismantle our system entirely, not for lack of trying.

I publicly called that out. If you don't like the thread, don't read the thread. Why ruin it for everyone else? No one dignified my comment with a response - I was hoping Jason would out some of those clowns but no such luck. Also, contrary to what some might say, as much as the recent legal rulings have helped a lot, I will not feel comfortable that this election cycle is over until Biden is sleeping in the White House on January 20. Because Trump and his followers are relentless and have no morals to stop them.
