Thank you Windsor for reading. There are so many former Duke players out there who deserve to have their stories told. We follow their every move so closely for four years and then so quickly it is easy for them to drift out of our awareness. I feel like I have learned a lot trying to follow them for other fans to read about.

On Monday, Marty Pocius and Zalgiris Kaunas returned to domestic league play and were stunned 88-79 by Neptunas. Marty had 2 points in 19 minutes. Robertas Javtokas had 10 points and 9 rebounds and Justin Dentmon had 10 points.

On Wednesday, DeMarcus Nelson and Red Star Belgrade headed to Russia to try to hang on a lead from the first game of the EuroCup semifinals with Unics Kazan, but they could not keep pace in the second half and lost 84-67 to be eliminated 136-130 on aggregate. DeMarcus had 11 points in 33 minutes. In the win, ex-College of Charleston player Andrew Goudelock had 17 points and 6 assists.

Krystal Thomas and Perfumerias Avenida lost Game 2 of the semifinals to Bembibre 68-65 to even the series up at 1-1 before heading home. Krystal did not score, but Shay Murphy had 22 points and Angelica Robinson had 15 points. Full statistics for the game are not available.

The EuroLeague Women Final 8 is taking place this week in Russia at the home of UMMC Ekaterinburg. The first stage of three round robin games started on Monday.

In Group A, an all Turkish battle went to the team with the biggest star as Angel McCoughtry's 15 points and 12 rebounds led Fenerbahce past Kayseri 64-58. In the loss, ex-WNBA player Nuria Martinez had 19 points and 8 rebound and ex-Penn State player Tanisha Wright had 13 points. Galatasaray defeated the only non-Turkish team in the group, topping Russia's Spartak Moscow 68-61. In the win, ex-Houston player Sancho Lyttle had 18 points and 9 rebounds and ex-Pitt player Shavonte Zellous had 15 points. In the loss, ex-WNBA player Sonja Petrovic had 15 points and 6 rebounds.

In the loss, Shavonte Zellous had 21 points and rookie Kelsey Bone from Texas A&M had 14 points.

Valencia took a lead from Spain to Russia and then extended it by pounding on Nizhny Novgorod 79-53 and advancing 163-128 on aggregate to face another Russian opponent in the final. In the win, Bojan Dubljevic, the 59th pick of the last draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves, had 13 points and 6 rebounds and ex-Xavier player Romain Sato had 11 points and 8 rebounds.

On Saturday, Jess Foley got her first major action for the Norwood Flames as they had a tougher test against the North Adelaide Rockets, but still prevailed 74-67. Jess had 14 points and 6 assists in 31 minutes. Amy Lewis had 19 points and 7 rebounds.

EuroLeague playoffs started this week as the top four teams from each group moved on to these best of five series. Teams faced opponents from the other group in the last stage with the top two teams in each group holding home court advantage by hosting Games 1, 2, and 5. Action started with the two Spanish teams hosting games on Tuesday and the other two series starting on Wednesday.

The results leave an intriguing set of Final Four games. The two big Spanish teams renew their rivalry in one semifinal. The second game of the EuroCup finals was on Wednesday in Russia. Valencia brought over a lead from the first game in Spain as they hit the road and knew that they had to have a strong game against Unics Kazan, starting extremely well to win the game 85-73 and winning the title 165-140 and earning themselves a spot in the next EuroLeague. On Monday, Nick Horvath and the Manawatu Jets were finally able to get a win by beating the Wellington Saints 100-89. Nick was able to play all 40 minutes and had 14 points and 14 rebounds. Paul Jones had 40 points and 8 rebound and Brandon Jenkins had 22 points. In the loss, ex-Georgetown player Brandon Bowman had 28 points and 8 rebounds, ex-Texas A&M player Bryan Davis had 21 points and 10 rebounds, and ex-NAIA player Corey Webster had 17 points.

Robertas Javtokas had 15 points and 9 rebounds Justin Dentmon had 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists. Despite some scary moments, the team managed to accomplish its goals during a difficult year for the club. When healthy, Marty was a big part of the success of the team in his return to his first professional club.

Taylor had previously finished his season with the Los Mochis Pioneers due to an injury. DeMarcus Nelson and Red Star Belgrade had Game 1 of the finals against their fierce rivals Partizan Belgrade. The team took a lead and held it into the fourth quarter before a big fight that heavily involved DeMarcus broke out, stopping the game until officials could determine which player needed to be ejected and so the stands could be cleared of unruly fans.
