In the most recent release of public documents by the University of North Carolina, the university released a letter to the tutor, Jennifer L. Wiley, of 6307 Spring Meadow Dr. in Chapel Hill, outlining how she helped student-athletes with both financial and academic assistance that was “impermissible."

The letter says, in 2010 Wiley provided “in excess of $2,000 in connection with travel and transportation issues.” Dick Baddour, UNC director of athletics, wrote that Wiley also "provided impermissible academic assistance" in 2009 and 2010. The letter concludes “the eligibility status of several of our student athletes has been adversely affected.”

Sounds like a far cry from the $3.35/hr. I got as a tutor in college.

Two holes ruled permanently ineligible. One played in four games this year, but for some reason, even though apparently he was ineligible due to taking impermissible benefits, the wins aren't vacated.

Sounds like the NCAA owes Bobby Bowden an apology.... :9f: :9f: :9f: :9f:

He scored a freaking touchdown! Against LSU! If he is not on the field, he don't score, maybe they don't win. But they don't have to forfeit. I don't get it.

Did I read things wrong? Bobby Bowden lost wins because of playing ineligible players. Hell, USC played Reggie Bush, whose family received improper benefits, and they lost a BCS CHAMPIONSHIP. Is there a difference somehow? Shouldn't 8 mile have to give up the two wins they got when (whatever the RB's name is) played?

I think LSU won that game so that one doesn't matter.

Rumor has it though that State may have to forfeit an early win when one of the 'holes was ineligible. Kinda like Cleveland State getting probation when unlv or kin-tucky had umm, "issues" several years ago.

However, I did note today that he played in 4 games and 2 of them were Ws. WTF? They should be forfeited, the 'holes should be 4-6 now and on the verge of bowl ineligibility. X( X(

All the above, are the best evidence to prove that they belong in Hell!

I think there is also a special place in Hell for those that turn their eyes away from this unequal form of justice.
Win or lose...black or baby blue...holes always suck! GTHC!

DE Quinton Coples attended a post draft party in Washington DC with Marvin Austin and Robert Quinn. The NCAA wants to know who paid for the transportation, hotel, food, etc...

http://eye-on-collegefootball.blogs.cbs ... 8/29429434

These Carolina football players are either dumb as dirt or they just don't care about the rules. I vote for all of the above.

In contrast to the crawling investigation by the NCAA into unc's problems, ECU self-reported violations this week and within days every sport has been placed on probation.

http://www.witn.com/home/headlines/ECU_ ... 37539.html

Very similar accusations too. Lucky for ECU theirs just involved cheating, they'd probably be given the death penalty if any of them involved athletes and money!

Very wimpy self sanctions. The NCAA will not agree.

Laughable. If the ncaa has any stones, the penalties will be more than double the pittance of self-imposed sanctions they have elected.

The law firm representing several triangle media companies filed a subpoena Tuesday for former University of North Carolina football coach Butch Davis’ personal cell phone records.
