This picture is obviously fertile fodder for humorous captions and the like, and by all means, my friends, have at it.
But seriously...What the fuck is he doing?

And while Williams has been critical of no-shows and late-arriving fans in the past, he hardly made an issue of the lean audience.

"It is what it is," he said. "I just appreciate those people who were there."

The tone of Williams' words perfectly reflected the mood of the program these days. He looks and sounds like a confused, depressed man in charge of a confused, depressed team.

The coach of this group of players also couldn't have been Williams. While he did have a similar look, this coach went an entire 40 minute game without making any offensive adjustments, threw together substitution patterns as if he had been given a ping-pong dispenser by the North Carolina Lottery and wore a perplexed look on his face as if he had spent the weekend watching Syriana in Arabic on Blue Ray.
It is true that the team I saw play had "North Carolina" written on their chests, but it wasn't the Baby Blue that I am so accustomed to seeing, but rather a metallic, silvery color that can best be described as "hideous." The uniforms were worn to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Michael Jordan Brand by Nike but his Airness didn't bother to show up, maybe because the combination of the fashion and basketball faux pas would have been too much to handle.
:)) :)) :))

I hadn't thought of this but someone on DBR mentioned it. If NCState manages to finish 11th and put unc at 12th, then unc wouldn't play in the Big 10/ACC Challenge. :D

Quotes from Carolina
Roy:
How is Deon’s back?
"That’s the biggest question mark. My list yesterday at practice – the list of out of practice – was longer than it’s been all year. So it remains to be seen what happens today. Will Graves is walking around in a boot. He did not practice, hasn’t practiced, and as far as I know hasn’t shot a basketball since Tuesday night. He’s continually sprained his ankle either every game or in every practice for the last two weeks. So he did nothing yesterday. On Wednesday we gave them the day off. Thursday he did nothing and he’s listed as limited from the trainer’s report today and we’ll just have to see about him.

"And the same thing with Deon. He doesn’t have his foot in a boot, but Wednesday he was off and yesterday they came out on the court for our opening discussion and I never saw them after that. His back is still bothering him. He’s getting treatment a couple of times a day. Wednesday I think he was in the trainer’s room twice getting treatment…

"Yesterday the category [on the trainer’s report] was it says ‘out’ was Ed Davis, David Wear, Will Graves and Deon Thompson. So it’s not what we would like to see, but it’s what it is. I hope I'll have some kind of a feel after practice today but I don't really think I will in Deon's case, because we'll have to see how he reacts to doing something for the first time since Tuesday. With Will, if he makes it through practice and doesn’t turn it over again or tweak it again, then we'll have to see if it swells up after that…

"I'm feeling that they will [play], but it's hard to be as effective if you're as limited as they are with what they can do."
Both will play their normal minutes regardless of what 'Ol Roy says....

Really? Roy doesn't know for sure if Graves has shot a basket and didn't see them after the opening discussion of practice? Who's running the asylum over there?

I'm busy enjoying the game for the second time on espn2 (6-1 YAY).

The 'holes fans on ic are more then a little stunned. And blaming everyone on the team not named henson or roy. In fact, there is talk of ed leaving, drew II, watts and mcdonald transferring. Now while this would be funny given the negative press that would follow, I for one like the idea of those guys (less ed davis) taking up scholarships for a few more years....

And I'd love it if this late run by henson had him enter the draft this year :D
