It's still there...

After we get through tonight's/tomorrow's snow and/or snow and rain event, the long range forecasts show a possibility of more snow and/or snow and rain events clustered around February 19-22 and later at the end of the month. Still a little too far ahead to know when the next one will be after tomorrow, but more are on the way.devildeac wrote:It's still there...
Me too. Got another work-from-home day tomorrow, so I am totally content to stay in by the fireplace with my laptop and watch it be wintry out.EarlJam wrote:More Atlanta snow.
Calling for two inches overnight. I am pleased.

Do you remember years ago (don't remember what year, 70's something) we were home playing Virginia? During the game, Art Chandler announcerd "Ladies and gentlemen, it is snowing in Durham, NC". The snow started in the 1st half. We beat uva. Buy the time we got out, we had several inches of snow. Well before we reached Orange Co. you couldn't tell the road from the shoulders or ditches. Some how we made it back to Efland. DukePA was in the yard making snow angles. She was about 16. She may have been drinking something beside Pepsie's. I don't want to hear what.Devil in the Blue Dress wrote:After we get through tonight's/tomorrow's snow and/or snow and rain event, the long range forecasts show a possibility of more snow and/or snow and rain events clustered around February 19-22 and later at the end of the month. If snow means Duke plays well, then this is our year!
They declared our drought over after the 10,000-year flood or whatever that we had last fall.YmoBeThere wrote:Expecting 6-8" today, missed out on last week's snow but not so lucky this week.
BTW, does this mean there won't be drought conditions in the Southeast this year?
Yes, I was there for that 9P game. It was so closely fought, nobody cared about what was going on outside. Once the game was over, we went outside to discover the streets vacant and covered with snow. Getting out of the football concourse parking was a bit of a challenge that night!Very Duke Blue wrote:Do you remember years ago (don't remember what year, 70's something) we were home playing Virginia? We had just about everything today in WS: snow, rain sleet, sunshine, heavy clouds.Very Duke Blue wrote:When I left Winston Salem today, around 4:45 pm, it was sleeting, showing and I think raining. We did drive out of it on the way home. How, in Efland, something frozen is falling with rain.
CathyCA and I grilled steaks after the game on her snow covered deck, Saturday night. They were yummy!Very Duke Blue wrote:Hope you get the snow. Have you been to the grocery store yet?
