Doubledip!
You'll doubledip, but will you mix your ramekins?

That recipe is pretty consistent with what I've had at Tyler's Tap Room. Some places use a real simple cornmeal breading, some use a heavier batter.

I enjoy them with something nice and hoppy. Something like a Pale Ale.
What he said, although someone who knows what they're doing should be able to fry you some pickle chips without them getting soggy. I prefer them this way.

Over 125 posts now. Approaching Ymm, Beer proportions... :)) =))

BTW, I like deep-fried pickles, too, but there aren't many places that have them and we rarely order appetizers.

Yup. Next time you're in town, we should all hit up Tyler's Tap Room for a few beers and some deep-fried pickles.
Game on... :D

OOPS. I originally had written "we're talking" and then changed it to "we've been talking" but forgot to change the "r" to the "v." :ymblushing:
Plus, with less than the desired amount of sleep the last 4 days, the "r" pretty much looked like a "v" to my old, sleepy eyes. :ymblushing:

Tony Packo's from here in Toledo,Ohio. Either "raw" or deep fried. http://www.tonypackos.com/pickles.php The original are certainly my favorites. Tony's has a good beer menu. A glass of beer and their pickles make a great way to complete a meal with the best hot dogs in America and beyond. :x

Absolutely. The place is an old tavern. It contains hundreds of signed hot dog buns (encased in plastic) from entertainers and, presidents, etc. Mash memorabilia abounds. I have been frequenting the place since before many of you were born. "Klinger",J. Farr, attended high school not very far away from the place.

I wish I had thought of going to Tony Packo's when I was starting and ending a bicycling trip in Toledo 3 years ago. I would have loved to see the place.

If you had checked my link to the Alton Brown recipe, you'd have seen the photo of the deep-fried spears.
