Thanks again all. I head home tonight. Well as home as an empty apartment can be. I have to deal with that this coming week.

Not sure how I feel about leaving. Will post more tomorrow.

Add my hugs and vibes to the constant CTN love coming your way :ymhug: :ymhug: Give Chloe a big hug from us too. Now it's time for you to concentrate on you. Take some time to induldge yourself in whatever makes you smile. You have more than earned a break.

Well that's kind of the problem. I'm back into the fire (at work) as soon as I'm back. :(

My mom said that 2009 has not been a good year for me. Hmmm, duh. My dad said all the shit started happening once I moved to Pasadena.

Signs, signs, everywhere are signs...

In that case, I am prescribing at least 2 hours per week and an additional 15 minutes per day in which you are only allowed to do things you enjoy. If you don't, you're grounded young lady :D !!

I saw those signs a few months before I found my current job. Here's hoping that a great opportunity presents itself soon! (That is, assuming you want to leave SoCal.)

My sister and I had a Life Can't Suck Like This Forever Club several years ago. I think you have more than met the criteria to join.

Sometimes the events of life can make us feel like doors slamming us in the face at every turn. Take a deep breath, step back and look at what's going on in your life. It may sound trite, but those slamming doors may blow open a window. A turning point can be a good thing........

DukePA has prescribed that you do something for yourself that brings a smile. You've got friends right here ready to help you when you see that window open.

We sure do kid ourselves into thinking we control things. But, sooner or later each of us comes to the realization that life is a crap shoot. So we might as well stop wasting all that energy trying to cling to some things and resist others. The only thing we CAN count on is the fact the everything changes sooner or later. Everything....the good and the bad.

I have found that keeping a journal has been invaluable in keeping me from going off the deep end. I write most every night and at the end of each entry I quickly list list five things I'm grateful for. Sometimes its simply something like soap and water, or maybe a smile someone gave me that day.(Various Crazietalkers are listed frequently, I might add.) Other times I can list something super, like a marvelous accomplishment by a grandson or the fact that my husband and I found our way back to each other after an argument. Reading back over all the entries of ups and downs when times are really tough is like watching time lapse photography and shows me how transient everything in life is and reminds me of all my blessings at the same time.

Gratitude is the key. It will calm you and get you through.
Love, Ima

Sue,

Prayers and vibes continue from Kansas. May peace find its way to you so that you can start knocking obnoxious fire related tasks off you list. May you be surprised with how others stepped in and handled things while you were off work tending to more important things. And if you need a few shin kicks sent someone's way, just let us know. The group stands ready to kick on your behalf!

Ima, you are a blessing! I couldn't have said it any better. You have much wisdom. Vibes to you and to Sue.

On the bright side, Sue, this particular year will give you a whole new perspective. Don't be surprised to find yourself looking back in the future and saying, "I made it through 2009; I can make it through anything!"

Home, or at least back in Pasadena in my empty apartment.

At least Chloe missed me.
