Yup. Next time you're in town, we should all hit up Tyler's Tap Room for a few beers and some deep-fried pickles.
Now, I'm craving fried pickles and ranch dressing.

I don't like sweet pickles. Never have. Never will. I do like dill pickle relish in egg salad and tuna salad. I also like to put dill pickle chips in my grilled cheese sammies. Ymmmmm. Oh, and Chik-fil-a, looove 'em with pickles and mayo! The more, the better :D

Have you given the pickled variety a chance? It's been my experience that they're crisp and cruncy, far from slimy/snotty. I like okra in soups and stews too, but it can go awry. Wonder what the secret to slimeless okra is?
That's a good tip on the crunchy aspect, I like it like that and can't wait to taste! You guys are making me hungry! I really love okra in soups and stews, CathyCA makes the best shrimp jambalaya and gumbo! I wonder if the secret to slimeless okra is the breading? Betcha TNT knows if I can't find it on the internet before he replies! ;)

Loving the link! Like you are right here next to me! :-BD ;) :D

Didn't realize they had them, but archiving for near future reference and beer sampling again! Excellent point!

Pork loin with pickles around? Sounds simply perfect for a Cuban sammie. =p~

So what pickles do best when deep-fried?

Do you cut them in halves or spears or do you leave them whole when you deep-fry them?

Deep fried pickles and grits might be good.

What beer would go well with deep fried pickles?

I've had deep fried pickles served both as chips and as spears. Always dills. The chips can get soggy, while the spears will retain their crunch.

I enjoy them with something nice and hoppy. Something like a Pale Ale.

Would you prefer the jalapeno slices, olives, pickles, etc. in a ramekin on the side?
Better yet, just pour the bloody mary into a giant ramekin filled with yummies! I'm not above drinking my bloody mary with a spoon.

I will have my fried pickles accompanied with two ramekins: one filled with ranch, the other with Texas Pete.
Doubledip!
