Football news

Post by OZZIE4DUKE » May 29th, 2009, 5:09 pm

Since almost no one would see this on The Stadium side, Jim Sumner (EK board) has reported that Zack Asack has been dismissed from the football team for violating team policy. That's really to damn bad, for the team, Zack, and his dad.

No offense Ozzie, but I'm moving this to the stadium. If we continue to post Duke news up here because "it won't be seen in the stadium" then it won't be. More people view the topics there than folks think. Unfortunate news about Zack.

Now that it's moved, that really sucks for Zack and the team. Zack made a commitment to Duke that really surprised me when he came to all of the games while he was on his first suspension (from school entirely). He was the only player (at least that I saw) at Cutcliffe's introduction press conference. He took his move to safety in stride, and did well there in the spring game. I don't know what he did to merit his suspension this time, but the sad thing is it's his own doing. As much as he's given, he will have only himself to blame. At least he should have 2 years eligibility, I wonder if he will transfer.

Ozzie pointed out over yonder that he's a senior, so he'd have to partake in the Paulus Plan....one year somewhere.

Was it ever discovered what happened?

I've gathered it was due to fighting. Someone mentioned that's what it was over yonder, but it's not from any reliable source.
