Things to do in Durham...
...when you're only there for a few hours?
So I have a wedding in Charlotte this weekend but, since I don't make it that way too often, I'm flying into RDU tonight and spending tomorrow morning/afternoon at Duke before driving down to Charlotte. This will be the first time I've been there since I graduated in '04. Given how little time I have, is there anything new and exciting on campus that I should definitely check out?
Any new places around campus that I should try for lunch?
Thanks!

Well, you might check out the construction at Wally Wade (bath rooms and concession stand(s)) and give us a progress report, plus you can see if you can get into the Krzyzewski Center (practice facility). They have completely redone the Hall of Fame area incorporating the new hallway from Cameron/Schwartz-Butters to the KC (my abbreviation, I've never seen it referred to that way).rockymtn devil wrote:...when you're only there for a few hours?

Also, if you're not busy on Saturday night, there is BostonDevil's play in Salisbury - several of us will be there for the 7:30 show.

Or, check-out one of two places off Erwin Road called Nosh and Chai Noodles. To get there, head down Erwin Road away from the hospital towards Cameron Blvd/751. Take, I believe, LaSalle Street and turn left into the parking lot. Nosh is on the end of the building closest to LaSalle, and Chai Noodles is on the other end of the building facing Erwin Road. I'll PM my phone numbers to you in case you need to get hold of a Durham resident.

What else do you think I'd suggest? ;)
Sorry we can't make it an outing with a few local CT folks.

Back from North Carolina and had a wonderful time in both Charlotte and Durham. I was with a friend who used to work in the basketball office so we went up to see his old colleagues from the office and got the tour of the new practice facility. It's incredible. We also caught the first half of Team Williams vs. Team Hurley at the K Academy being played in Cameron (and I caught a glimpse of blue seats upstairs and was told that they are considering painting them all blue for next season--not a fan).
