I'm planning on riding my bike to work tomorrow - 14 miles.

I figure if I write it here, then I'll be more likely to remember, when I wake up tomorrow morning, that I told someone else my plan to ride my bike to work, and thus not bail out on it.

I used to ride to work every single day in DC, for about 2 years. But that was only 3 miles. There was an all-out sprint down M street in Georgetown for a stretch, but still, it was overall much shorter. With fewer hills.

And it's supposed to hit 90 here tomorrow. We've been having AWESOME weather for the past two weeks. I'm almost wishing for a grey day again. (Did I just say that?!)

If we all pitched in $5 and got a bunch of people over on DBR to contribute to CellR's "wear a duke shirt to a UNC function" scholarship pot, he might not NEED that $500 from the smile thing. $-) $-) $-) $-) Of course, we'd need photographic evidence before paying up. ;)

PSA: BE CAREFUL OF PUBLIC BATHROOM FLUSHING HANDLES!!!

My three year old was at Wegman's this morning and he had to go. So, we went in and he did his business. When he went to flush, he wasn't paying attention and caught the part of his hand between his thumb and index finger in the handle. I got him out, but there's a purple "pinched" area about the size of a nickel with a bloody torn area the size of a dime in the middle of it. Yes, it BROKE the skin. I was shocked. :-o Poor kid. Not to mention the chance of infection since he did it on a toilet flusher handle. Here's crossing my fingers to preventing infection! He even cried a little. :(( For about five seconds. He's a tough kid. ;) He's got a Transformer band-aid on it now with a bunch of AB ointment, so he's fine.

You know, there are people that would sue Wegman's for their obvious negligence, the flush valve manufacturer (probably Sloan) for their faulty design, and the last person to use the urinal for leaving his germs behind. Glad you're not one of those!

Forgive me wilson, for I have sinned.

I DID actually log in over yonder to zap a PM to dukestheheat (kitesurfing question). If you take away the LTE & Beer threads, the average post count per thread has gone WAYYYYYYYY down, with BD's "Lost" thread the big one.

Now that you are a moderator wilson :ar!, does the postcount really have anything to do with your ability to moderate?

I'm not sure exactly what your question is, but seeing as how moderating this forum is a pretty low-key "job," I'll pretty comfortably answer, "No."

I've yet to visit the CTN Ymm, Beer thread. Haven't even read a single post. :-o

I'm a little scared to wade through it all now.

Sorry. I was just thinking that moderating large threads might be more difficult than moderating smaller threads. At least that was my impression over yonder.

Glad to know that it's a low key job. :o) :ymparty: \:D/ How much time does it take you to moderate?

Since I don't typically drink beer, I haven't read it either. Maybe we should split it up and compare notes?

Generally speaking, zero. Once or twice a week, something crops up that might take 20 min or so. Other than that, I don't spend any more time "moderating" than I do just normally reading the boards.

I may be going to Hell 'cause I posted "over yonder" on the PPB again. I feel dirty again but some things were said I could not let go unchallenged.

Nah, I was well past my early childhood when it came out, too. LOVE that song. I <3 Don Henley.

Okay, I slept late this morning, so didn't have time to bike in. So, I threw my bike in my car, drove to work, and rode home tonight. I forgot how much I enjoy a good bike ride (though I'm substantially less in shape than I used to be for it... which is why I'm taking it back up.)

Now the question is, will I be up for the ride back in the AM, or do I need to catch a bus? :)
