Best of luck/skill for an uneventful and benign final outcome.

I'm working from my post anesthesia husband's account...I will speak to the Dr. on Friday when the pathology is back. I did have the report read to me by the nurse...don't think that didn't take some arm twisting even after Mr. Windsor consented. In the mean time I am about to become a layperson expert on polyps and colon cancer...my stress is relieved by information (and I have the good sense to know what sites to find good information on).
Best wishes on this, windsor!

Was this a routine, preventative screening?

Was this a routine, preventative screening?
It was a routine screening but not a colon screening that started it. His Dr. had suggested he have one during his regular physical - Dr also performed a routine prostate exam and sent a fecal sample (who knew??) and found some traces of blood. 'Suggested' when to 'Right Now'.

The pathology is in, a Cat scan has been done...he had a bunch o' polyps all but one of which were benign. The other is that elusive 'pre-cancer' state. That one is still in there (it's flat and couldn't be removed during the colonoscopy). Brian goes in Thursday for the first of two treatments. Rather than the usual surgery they are going to argon plasma the beast into oblivion. (the Dr loved it when I said 'cool - you're going to phaser his ass!!')

In other news the CAT scan revealed a 3 cm abdominal aortic aneurysm. That will be watched and when it reaches 5.5 -6 cm they'll deal with.

Since I bitched about him before - the Dr has done a 180 - and answered everything - actually he talked more to me than Mr. Windsor. You should have seen the Dr's face when I asked if he'd done a CEA blood test.... :)) Priceless. Luckily Mr. Windsor was fine with my being the information gatherer....I translated for him in the car on they way home.

While it is not all sunshine and roses it certainly could be much much worse. The first butt phaser occurs on Thursday....take two will be in about a month.

I appreciate all the :wizard: :wizard: and :ymhug: :ymhug: you guys rock ^:)^ ^:)^ ^:)^ ^:)^

Thanks for filling us in. The news could have been much worse, certainly. We'll keep up the :wizard: and  for both of you.

Way to go on being the information gatherer. Keep those docs in line! Too bad you don't get to phase his ass....

Very happy you got a positive report.

As long as you're watching, just before the procedure begins you could shout something something along the lines of, "Mr. Chekov, the intruder's aft shields are down to 10%, shift all power to forward phaser banks and fire at will." :D
