Try posting THAT on DBR and not getting infracted.
Now you know that's not true. We've talked about, and delivered how many Woody's in the last couple of years? :D
I almost always post mine as a Woody Allen. You seem to be able to, umm, get away with just posting something about a Woody. :)) :))

Remember, I got infracted for hoping/wishing EJ could have a Hummer, Happy Ending or Donkey Punch for his birthday while another mod was conducting a poll in which one of the choices was "Earl Jam getting lucky, umm, in the bedroom," or something like that.

Scary? What about the Volkswagen Rabbit (or some similar sized car) that has a 12 cylinder engine? If you put wings on it the fucking thing would take flight!

I also got "away with" posting that "I've always liked a waitress that wasn't afraid of a little head", to which EJ posted that he'd never get away with saying that. He was, of course, right!

With the demise of GM, there are several cars that they made in the Sixties and early Seventies that are moving up my Wish List.

You really think they'll go completely under? I think they'll survive, albeit in a highly streamlined version of the company. I think that process needed to happen about fifteen years ago. I've been telling people for a decade that Pontiac had no reason to exist alongside Chevrolet, and Oldsmobile similarly duplicated Buick. I also said that while the company was in the business of all that re-badging, Saturns should simply be Opels. This is not the same inefficient overlap as the two previously mentioned ones, since Opels are European made and have only vestigial brand awareness in the States.
Well, whaddya know? They've done precisely what I said with Pontiac and Oldsmobile, but they started making Opel/Saturns (Astra, Aura, Sky) too late.
Anyway, they might survive only because the government wants them to survive (although, to be fair, I think the American public needs them to survive). But I think the four core brands they're sticking with can be a better functioning corporation.

They won't go completely under, but as you note will be highly streamlined and owned by the unions. They will be forced to make cars that are much smaller and immensely less interesting. Of course, I haven't been interested in a US-built auto in years.

Put me down for the same year El Camino SS, blue with white racing stripes. That would be the perfect tailgating vehicle.

Ahhh, the days when US made cars ruled the world IMHO. That second one would have only cost you $320K...
