Who is your favorite Star Trek Captain?

Ok. You asked for it. Here it is. Who is your favorite Star Trek Captain? And by captain, I mean commander of a ship. Captain of Engineering Scott of the Excelsior doesn't count. I really don't want to include Commander Sisko because his command never moved anywhere - but he did have the USS Defiant assigned to his station. I'm also choosing to leave Spock out because his command of the Enterprise was so short before returning command to Admiral Kirk.

I'm very sorry, but Captain Klaa will not be appearing in this list.

Still thinking. Great to see Tomalak included. He's not my favorite, but Mark Lenard is one of my favorite ST actors.

As much as I love Picard, I had to go with JTK. There's a reason his character has such long longevity, even spanning different actors. This isn't my vote for Shatner, it's a vote for Kirk. There have been young Picard's (twice); he just wasn't the character I like until he got bald.

The only ass Kirk could NOT whoop would likely be Singler's, who by the way would make a fantastic starship captain.
