They definitely stand the test of time. Both of them are fuckin' hilarious.

That's funny, I edited my post to fix the grammar, but Wilson's quote of it didn't change. I was wondering how that would work.

I definitely liked Funny Farm, too, though I wouldn't really call it a Christmas movie. The mailman in that movie is a riot.

Dude, there is nothing trite about loving Caddyshack or Fast Times at Ridgemont High. They are both great and I got your back.
Remember back when there polls on DBR? Your average DBR poster selected Vacation has the their favorite; Caddyshack and Christmas Vacation tied for second.

I missed a word on my post, I meant to say Funny Farm was NOT a Christmas movie, but it had a chunk of it set at Christmas. (When they bought off all the neighbors to act nice.) "Cue the deer".

Except the one where he was the gardener. That was the most depressing movie I have ever seen.
I'm sorry. I loved it. The simple nature of the man and the surprise ending.
Great views of Biltmore House.

For recent hilarious movies, Superbad is hard to beat, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall was surprisingly LOL-worthy. Even the DVD extras for that had me rofling.

I really enjoyed Forgetting Sarah Marshall too. In fact, I DVR'd it off of HBO last night, to watch it sometime in the next few days.

I wasn't a big fan of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, despite the fact that I like most of the actors. It was just a little too crass while trying to come off as a romantic comedy. My wife hated it, so maybe her dislike colored my viewing a little. Plus, I could have done without all the full monty male, especially without some female to balance it out. As Seinfeld once said, there's good nudity and bad nudity. I was NOT a fan of that nudity. I've also always believed that the female form is a thing of beauty, and that's why it's been immortalized in art and song and dirty magazine for time immemorial. The male form is hairy, ugly, and lumpy and shouldn't be seen by the light of day.
