Just got home from Greensboro. First thing you need to know is this: The championship game today was like a home game in Cameron. It was wonderful! Of course the WIN was also great...and Georgia Tech has talent. Remember they beat us in Atlanta. Today they simply would NOT go away.

The signs in the audience were super...especially after both the faded blue tarholes exited and then again when the menu included Terrapin soup. One that caught my eye: What do the NCAA tournament and flip flops have in common? No heels. Another: Dress Code for the NIT: No heels.

Today a smart alec kid wrapped himself in a Maryland flag and paraded through the Duke section with a sign that said, "Duke sucks." He didn't get far with his little prank because our hero took the sign and tore it to shreds. That saved me from having to pinch his little head off.

Today there was a sign in Spanish (which I will translate!): Where is Vasquez? Another one yesterday said Jon Scheyer > Greasy Vasquez.

It was a great tournament and we saw all the games...now I need to rest!

Thanks for the Spanish quote! That's what the sign said!

From my center court seat in Cameron, I claim each and every Blue Devil as MINE and OURS!

Now...off to the YMCA to work out in my ACC Champions tee shirt! It will be nice to sense an absence of the faded blue shirts today. And I doubt that "they" will be wearing NIT outfits later in the month!!!!

THAT, Deac, is a given! And it looks like it will be flapping in the breeze out there for a while longer.....much to my neighbor's chagrin! ;)

Our Duke flag waves year round. We change it when it wears out but only in the "off" season so we don't jinx a team!

Three signs I forgot to include:

(1) Fear the Beard (and it had Zoubek's number 55 on it!!!)

(2) Hurricane has become a tropical storm.

Followed by-

(3) Hurricane is now a tropical depression.

There was another funny one, but it had a bad word.

Probably was a murlin sign...it only had four-letter words and that's about the vocabulary capacity of their fans.

Another "sighting" that I almost forgot about. The "between games" dinners on Friday...after dining with the Dukies, some folks "party hopped" around the coliseum venues to visit friends from other schools. When they "came upon" the tarhole "party site," the tables were set up, the food was out...and there was not ONE person at the "party!!!" I guess they "ate" their meal tickets instead of their meal!!
