You can cry in your beer this summer at the DAP with Willie. He's playing there with John Mellencamp. I've never seen Willie live, but grew up listening to him. Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain was listened to while I painted just about any painting recently since it's on my MP3 player, along with Poncho and Lefty and the Red Headed Stranger.

You need to make it happen, ASAP. Willie is well within the top 5 of live acts I've seen (I've been to 3 Willie shows). Well worth whatever it costs. Seriously, do it.

Is that Ryan Adams or Bryan Adams? I hadn't heard of Ryan Adams, so I was confused. For all I know, there IS a Ryan Adams.

It's Ryan Adams. All the kids are listening to him these days. He's part of what has come of the "alt-country" thang these days, and he's actually pretty damn good (Just ask him...).

He covered "Wonderwall"? Sorry, not a fan of that. And his version doesn't really do anything for me. I think I'll stick with the Oasis version. His original stuff isn't too bad, but that cover hurt bad. And it's his second most popular song according to iTunes. People are morons. ;)

Ryan Adams is great. He's also pretty quick-witted. Being interviewed once, outside at the Grammy's, he told the interviewer that the place "just looked like a good place to have a beer."

He claims to be quitting the music biz (this may be the fourth time this decade alone). He must just be fully devoted to his fiance, Ms. Mandy Moore. I'm pretty much a super fan and have been desperately awaiting the box set for years. I'll probably have to keep waiting.

I never understood the term "alt-country". The stuff that gets labeled "alt-country" today is more grounded in traditional country music than anything coming out of Nashville. This isn't 1968 when Sweetheart of the Rodeo was alternative country music.
