Thanks for a great season!

Although we didn't quite get the outcome we would've wanted, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the Duke football program for a great season. We have players who represent our university well - they fight hard every game, win or lose. All in all, players and coaches alike are class acts. I'm proud to cheer for them.

Despite the fact that the game did turn out as we'd like, the courage shown by many of our players is remarkable. Many are still not recovered from injuries inflicted November 7.

Thad has not been able to practice for three weeks because of the deep thigh bruise which was the result of the heavy, late hits in Chapel Hill. Coach Cutcliffe that for a while he was not even able to walk. The injured thigh was 2-3 times larger than the other one. He still broke 10K career yards today and became the #2 ACC QB for career passing yardage. Vince Oghobaase tried valiantly and did tackle a number of times, but it was clear that he couldn't move as he usually would.

What a season! What a wonderful senior class!

They did Duke proud, and I hope they are proud of themselves, because their heart and effort were truly amazing. A heartfelt thank you from this fan to all the players and coaches, and the seniors will really be missed. Well done. :ymapplause:

I'll join in the thanks wholeheartedly. Those guys helped lay the foundation for better seasons ahead. I think Thad's records will be around for a while. I hope we get to see him, Vince and Vinnie on Sunday's, it should be fun to see how they do in camps.

I want to add my thanks to the team. I'm proud to wear DUKE over my heart on football Saturdays. You represent yourselves, your families, and our university so well. It is a pleasure to cheer for you. I know the future will bring good things for the team and all of the players.
