The show was fantastic even though the sound left a bit to be desired. Dave Grohl was a monster on drums and I feel like Homme really shines in TVC. Not that he was any slouch in Queens of the Stone Age, but he kicked major ass on stage. John Paul Jones bass playing is as solid as ever, great tone and rhythm but he left a lot to be desired on stage, especially compared to Homme and Grohl who were quite animated. But it was still bad ass to look up there and see John Paul Muthagrabbin Jones!

This was one of those shows were it was worth the $55 a pop. Kelly and I had a great time and I'd gladly pay the extra bucks to see them again. I would recommend, as I do with most bands, to try and catch them in a small venue.

Jones has never been animated on stage. Even during his younger years in Zeppelin's heyday he was very restrained on stage preferring to let the others grab all of the limelight so the show you saw seems to be par for the course for him.
