While I would agree with you most of the time on sources of information about Duke athletics, the lines are becoming more blurred as to actual geographic locations of the reporters or TV stations as well as other sources of information. The email address of the reporter for the N&O piece appears to be their Charlotte operation which is farther away then WS. (I know, the reporter could still be in Raleigh.) In addition, the WS Journal has been able to retain a good sports department despite all sorts of downsizing common to the news industry. Every once in a while the Journal's sports reporters get the scoop out first.
