Re: Vibes for Imafacultiwyfe and Imafacultydaughter
Renewed vibes from Kansas. I hope it turns out to be a small, common microbe so a quick dose of antibiotics can knock it out. My shin kicking abilities are available - and will be in Durham on Thursday.
Prayers for strength and healing for Ima FacultyDaughter.

Thanks for checking in, bj. I know you had to take a break for a while since this was so depressing. Believe me, we understand.bjornolf wrote:More vibes, hugs, flowers, and prayers from NoVa.

Hey guys! Good to see you and feel your humongous vibes!
DukeRah was hospitalized twice during December.....two separate infections. The second one kept her there for a week during Christmas vacation. She was released last Monday with a midline IV for antibiotics at home. I took her straight to work where she stayed until 7:30 that night. She's at work daily, keeping this all under the radar because she doesn't want them getting the idea she can't handle her job. She's really toughing it out. I'm so proud of her.
Her surface wounds continue to heal over, but these "subterrainean" infections are keeping everybody frustrated. When they erupt, her fever spikes to 103, white count shoots up and she is in great abdominal pain. They do scans and cultures, put her on the appropriate antibiotic and then that episode ends. Then we wait for the next assault. They have sent her records over to UNC to pick the brains over there in case they are missing something. But, it's doubtful that they will come up with anything new.
One day at a time. One day at a time. Sometimes one hour or even one minute or one breath at a time. That's how it's done.
Meanwhile, stay cozy everybody. And Go Devils!!! They can never know how much relief they give us when we are under stress!
What a treasure we have in them and in our buddies here at CTN!
Love, Ima
