I didn't realize before reading the article on the front page that Carlos Boozer's brother, Charles, plays for them. That's pretty cool. Kinda weird that it's two brothers with basically the same name. It's like naming your kids Jose and Joseph or Miguel and Michael. Interesting. I guess it's better than naming all of your kids George like George Foreman did. ;)

I didn't even pick up on that - that is sort of odd. But at least, unlike George, both of the Boozer's kids were boys....bjornolf wrote:I didn't realize before reading the article on the front page that Carlos Boozer's brother, Charles, plays for them. Sounds like Charles spent time in Cameron:
http://www.cyclones.com/ViewArticle.dbm ... M_ID=10700Charles’ family moved to the Raleigh-Durham area when Carlos was a member of the Duke squad...Charles spent many days hanging out at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

If Memphis and Syracuse go into overtime, I'm going to take my guitar and smash it against the wall 349 times. Double overtime? My neighbor's poodle get's drop-kicked to the Chattahoochee.

Re: Duke vs Iowa State
Solid game by 3 players. Obviously Jon Scheyer, what a performance! Kyle had a tough game, but consistantly played tough...and Miles Plumlee rounded them out. The rest of the Devils, not pretty on offense, and our inside D was weak at times, but too talented all together to let Iowa State ever get in the game. Some of the plays and shots Jon had....mind boggling. I haven't enjoyed watching any one player so much since Redick.

And this time it's Kansas-Cornell that causes us to miss 6 minutes of the second half. On the HD channels they could have at least split screened it or something.

Mason got the short end of the stick on a couple of switches and there was no one there to help, but like you said, too much talent for it to be a game-breaker. I think the Plumlee's have come a long way in the last few weeks - but the real test for them comes this weekend at Georgia Tech.CameronBornAndBred wrote:Solid game by 3 players. I owe Nolan a shout too. He has many games like this...nothing too flashy, but consistent...so he flies under my radar.
Just another well played game by him with 20 quiet points.

OMFG, Jay Bilas was KILLIN me tonight.
That KFC/ESPN commercial.
"Coach K would tell us about how tough they were, they wore tweed suits without underwear."
"He did well despite suffering so many hardships...playing for Digger Phelps."

The tweed quote I liked..one of the few times I've heard Bilas talk about locker room experiences with K. He might have told tons of those stories, I try to tune him out while we are playing though.gadzooks wrote:OMFG, Jay Bilas was KILLIN me tonight.

Re: Duke vs Iowa State
Great game - good recovery to their run in the first half and the Plumlee's continue to progress. Can't say enough about Singler, Scheyer and Smith. Speaking of, what's the rule on the order of the S's? I've seen threads on coming up with a nickname, but nothing on the order to list them. Alphabetical? Height? Scoring Average? A/TO ratio? # of tweets per day? If I asked this over yonder would I be banned or just yelled at?

I didn't see were your question was ever mentioned nor brought up in regards to what order they will go in.Jesus_hurley wrote:Great game - good recovery to their run in the first half and the Plumlee's continue to progress. Re: Duke vs Iowa State
From the front page write up on the game...
An 11 point lead was reduced to 8 on a long three by Marquis Gilstrap to end the half. Then some stuff happened between the start of the second half and the 14 minute mark and before you knew it, Kansas beat Cornell and Duke was back up by 12.

Re: Duke vs Iowa State
This is a FANTASTIC point. And remember, Nolan hit some big shots and made some great assists when Duke needed it most, with Iowa State making their biggest threats of the night. He's clutch. I kind of wish I could change my vote for him as "The BeDeviler."CameronBornAndBred wrote:I owe Nolan a shout too. Re: Duke vs Iowa State
This discussion reminds me of another recent topic of discussion.... whether Duke has a "go to guy." I'd say there's more than one on this team!
