Online Surveys for Cash - Are they Legit?

Post by EarlJam » December 17th, 2009, 4:30 pm

I, EarlJam, am looking for a little extra cash for Christmas money and to, shall we say, keep my fingers intact.

I''ve been propositioned by numerous companies on-line about participating in surveys for cash. Does anyone in this community know anything about these offers? Is anyone doing them? Had any success withh them? Failure with them? If you have had success, could you point out which ones are the most trustworthy and lucrative? Any insight would be tremendously helpful. Thanks.

ALSO....

If not the surveys, is there anyone here doing other "work from home" endeavors that pay off? Would you be willing to share?

Thanks in advance!

I wish I could say I've had experience, but I've never trusted any of the "opportunities". Best wishes on finding something legit, I'm gonna join you in watching for a success story to be posted.

Even the ones that actually pay don't pay much. The only company I've done surveys for that pays real cash is American Consumer Opinion, and it's like $4 a couple times a year (you might get more from them, since women tend to be over-represented on survey sites). I just, after about two years, got enough points on Harris Poll for a $5 Amazon gift card. e-Rewards sends me plenty of surveys, but I've discovered that their "rewards" are crap, mostly magazine subscriptions, which, WTF. I used to belong to one other site I forget the name of because it also didn't pay squat and wasn't worth my time.

Everyone I know of that has pursued these, have (1) lost their money; (2) tried it and still have their day jobs because it isn't as advertised; and (3) proves that digging in and working for a living is still the most secure thing that exists because IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, then IT PROBABLY IS! ;) I keep shooting the ground and hoping to see some black gold start spewing from the ground that Uncle Sam hasn't discovered! Call me an optimist!!!! L-) I still buy my MEGA-MILLIONS which by the way is worth $140,000,000 and I know I have the winning ticket or I have CathyCA's winning ticket in my wallet! :D
