Okay, now for piercings...

Post by bjornolf » April 21st, 2009, 8:24 am

So, I did the tattoo thread, now for the piercings thread. Single ear piercings don't count for this. If you have MULTIPLE ear piercings that you still use, it counts. Where are you pierced? If you're too embarrassed to say, just say you have one, but you're not telling us where. ;) So, what do you all think.

One option for your opinion and one option for you.

I don't have any piercings. My wife just has the classic one per ear. She used to have one on top of her left ear when we first started dating, but it irritated her too much when she slept, so she took it out.

In moderation, I think piercings are fine. I don't mind them in the belly button, a couple extra in the ears, maybe one in the nose. Those areas covered by a bikini are okay, too, but I don't get to see those (see happily married man). However, if you have ALL of those, or you start adding the eyebrows and stuff like that, not a big fan. It gets to be too much very quickly. I am NOT a pincushion fan. I don't want a woman that looks like pinhead from the hellraiser movies. :-o

I have an extra piercing. I got it when I was a freshman at Duke.

If I ever get down to my pre-pregnancy weight, I'm going to get one more piercing.

I like piercings on men, but that dangly earring that the G-Man was wearing this past basketball season was a tad annoying. I don't want to see movement in men's earrings. Studs are fine, small hoops are fine, but dangly annoys me.

the advantage of piercings over tats is that you can take out them out and eventually the hole will close - unless you do that gauging thing which is just gross

I used to have my ear pierced long ago, but it was a pain in the ass to maintain. I don't mind piercings on others. I think they can be excessive, but it's all about personal expression. I think the Mike Gminski should lose his dangly earring.

Yeah, those gauging things are disgusting and should be saved for the people that do it for their culture, like the tribal people of Africa. On them, it's fine, but I'm not planning on ever dating one of them.

I have no piercings, but love them in moderation on women (1 or 2)! Not real crazy about all the metal going up from lobe around the top of ear, nor do I like nose or eye brow thing. The belly button ring can be attractive!

I have 7 piercing's. So I don't know what that would qualify me as?
I have three in each year. I used to have an industrial in one ear which made it 9 (its a bar that goes basically across the ear in a semi \ formation). Lol.. But I have 3 in each ear. I usually don't ware them all because work is super strict about them.
Then I have my belly pierced. I like piercings just like tattoo's. I have always wanted my nose pierced for some reason. But I am 99.9 percent positive mother won't have it. But I would just get a little shiny stud.
A lot of my friends have various piercings mostly the girls stick with belly, tongue, nipples (ouch) but others have gone further. My cousin has six on her face (by face I don't mean lip, tongue, nose, eyebrow...) she has 6 surface piercings she did herself they're next to her eye.

That's how my cousins are but they are more parallel to her eye. Surface piercings for woman are currently very popular for making a corset appearance, usually along the back or side. This would consist of multiple piercings (usually circular guaged body jewelry on the surface) with lace woven through it can range from 4- 24.

-They also have things called implants now...they are not silicone they are metal pieces implanted under the skin, usually your start small and work your way up. They can be circles, stars, horns, any shape you want and virtually any size.

As for gauges I don't like them.. teenagers have gone to crazy gauging everything from their ears to their nose, tongue, etc. It's highly unattractive.

I've had one....and it was by accident. I went up for a rebound and a guy who happened to be 6-8 inches taller than your average capt, came flying i, over my back and my head, grabbed the ball and came crashing down with his pointy elbow, squarely on the crown of my head.
