From a confidential PM from a current FB manager: (paraphrased and summarized)- Expect some REAL surprises/changes from last year when our Devils take the field on Saturday evening... ;)

I'll tease you some more later today and Friday and reveal some possible scenarios after about 4 PM on Saturday...

I'll start with one of the more innocent statements: The freshmen who will be playing/in the rotation are highly deserving of their roles and are GREAT ath-a-letes.

Kinny Rucker has been upgraded to "probable" from "questionable." I expect to see him on the field some Saturday night.

The opposing team's locker room is finished and the team met for a few minutes this morning in the new facility. Coach Cut said, "For too long we have been rude off the field by allowing opposing teams to come into the old, crappy locker room, but we have been really nice and kind on the field! That will be reversed starting Saturday. Richmond is going to be greeted by a new facility off the field, but we are going to be a mean, hungry group on the field!"

I expect to see the majority of you there on Saturday evening. It will be a game that you won't want to miss!

I don't know where you got your information, but that may have changed today in practice... ;)

I paraphrased some "top secret" info I received and changed RB to backfield (go check your PM to me...ooops)

The offense and special teams have some tricks up their sleeve...

The starting kickers may be different than last year although Maggio did boom a punt for 69 (that's YARDS for you thinking along Shamm's lines :roll: ) in practice this week.

And, the best bit of info about the offensive backfield is...

I saw both kickers will see duty, but I'm not sure why they made a big deal of that. They did the same last year with long yardage field goals vs. short-medium yardage and kick offs.

Rucker will play. That apparently is a great story as Cut talked about a 'shirt for him in July due to his foot injury/infection.
Thad will start. My 'source" thought Renfree might start and it had nothing to do with height...
Boyette starts at RB and returns kicks with Hollingsworth
Vernon (?sp?) has the speed of Riley and better hands.
Maggio is the PK
A walk-on, Snyderman (?) is the KO kicker.

That's about it for inside info now. Perhaps a bit more over food and beverages tomorrow. I'm so excited I could PIMP. :roll:

Yes, indeed it is! Still got a few things to do before loading the car and heading to Greensboro to pick up some friends. The weather looks beautiful and there's a crisp, cool feel of fall early in the day. Good times are about to unfold!
