Add another GOP endorsement for Harris to her growing list.
The mayor of Waukesha, the seat of a reliably Republican county outside Milwaukee, endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president Wednesday — the first time the formerly Republican city leader is supporting a Democrat for commander in chief, the campaign said.

“It would be easier for me to stay quiet and vote my conscience privately, but the stakes of this election are so important that I feel compelled to share publicly that I am voting for Vice President Kamala Harris and I encourage other Wisconsinites who care about our country to do the same,” Shawn Reilly said in a statement circulated by the Harris campaign.

I keep wondering if the "October Surprise" is going to be some very big GOP names saying that Trump can't happen. At this level in politics, it's hard to truly stun anyone, and Trump has proven it's basically impossible, as his pussy grabbing still got him elected. I don't see anything bringing him down aside from the likes of W, Pence, and one or two others coming out strongly and saying "America Can Not Have This Man As POTUS". Actually I don't think Pence would make a ripple, since he was being sent to the gallows, but W likely would.

The comments by Kelly and others are worthy, but it's too low level and too slow of a trickle.

Regardless, I can't help but think that with those thoughts of past White House officials coming out, some kind of bigger statement is on the horizon.

There is lots of chatter on Xitter abut another October surprise, but it feels like unfounded speculation. Did you about Harris making her closing argument speech at the Ellipse next Tuesday? Sounds like a 'save democracy' speech.

30% of Georgia’s registered voters have already voted as of yesterday. Another week-plus of early voting. It’s getting late in the day for October surprises here.

Pretty much my thinking too. For a true October Surprise, that puppy better bark in late September these days.

I'm not sure how many will wait until the 5th to cast their vote, but if it's under 60% I won't be surprised. Of course, that still a huge number that could be affected by a "wake up call". Even if they just say fukkit and decide to stay home.

This is so cool. Walz getting to experience Cameron and shake hands with Scheyer. I like the end part when his daughter speaks.

Imagine how good Duke football would have been with Walz as coach instead of Franks and Roof? Couldn't have been much worse...

I'm a religious NYT reader and have complained that they haven't gone hard enough after Trump. But they seem to be doing more of that now. Obviously they are largely preaching to the choir, but still good to see. However, I have been reading a lot about how many are afraid to say anything bad about Trump for fear of retribution. Some newspapers aren't endorsing anyone and business leaders are afraid to say anything. It is sad that Trump's mafioso BS is actually working for him. He's a pathetic loser, not a tough guy.

Fear works and it sucks. I've seen more than a few billboards around now with the message "Nobody will know who you vote for, ever". They all feature women as the image. Going after the voter that's scared to tell their family of their preference in that way is a good move.

Voter fraud is alive and well, at least in PA. This is nuts.
“In some cases, applications contained correct personal identification information, such as the correct address, correct phone number, date of birth, driver’s license number and Social Security number — but the individuals listed on the applications informed detectives that they did not request the form,” Adams said. “They did not complete the form and verified that the signature on the form was not theirs.”

Here's some bullshit for you. Harris truthfully calling Trump a fascist is wrong because it might bring on another assassination attempt. So says Johnson and McConnell.
Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) issued a joint statement Friday condemning Vice President Harris for saying she believes former President Trump is a “fascist,” arguing that it could invite another assassination attempt.
So, Trump's constant lies and threats of violence are fine, but the truth isn't allowed.

It's really simple. Stop being a fascist and we will stop calling you one. Stop supporting a fascist and we will stop calling you a fascist sympathizer.

That noise you just heard was Trump crapping his pants.
Chinese hackers are believed to have targeted cellphones used by former President Donald Trump and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The Trump/Vance campaign was made aware this week that Trump and Vance are among several people whose phone numbers are believed to have been targeted and potentially compromised, the sources said. It's not clear what, if any, access was gained to the devices. Investigators are working to determine that information, the sources told ABC News.

I think it was SkyBrickey losing sleep over the betting markets for the election. We have an answer.
It appears a wealthy Frenchman is behind a massive swing in Donald Trump’s favor on the political trading website Polymarket, which listed the former president as having a 62 percent chance of winning the election on Thursday morning.

The man’s nationality and a brief biography of him, which described the gambler as having “extensive trading experience and a financial services background,” was unmasked in a report by The New York Times.
