Never Recover 3 - The Veil - 5.3 % - Sour-Fruited Gose with triple boysenberry and triple peach slice puree
Thicc smoothie creamy purple pour. Fantastic berry sour aroma.
Holy fruit puree mouthfeel batman. Fruit coats your palate and the glass.
The taste starts quite tart fun boysenberry flavor. The peaches blend nicely with the berry in this smoothie. It finishes smooth. Gorgeous balance of flavors. One of the best gose's I've tasted.
Low Cat 3 but very close to mid 3. Quite amazing, but quintessential Veil stuff.
Thanks accfan!! What an incredibly juicy Veil haul this has been. Drinking each one is an experience all serious beer drinkers must have (if you like fruit). And I'm still not sure it's beer, but oh man do they pull these off.
My turn...
Another tale of two pours.
Love Ninja got the first half, I got the chunky half.
Gorgeous raspberry violet in the glass.
Fruit content makes it look like a smoothie or all head.
Loaded peach syrup nose.
As RJ said above, thick. I’ll say it again- thick.
Really smoothie consistency.
Tart, edge of Sour Patch territory tart.
The tartness is similar to when you eat a just underripe blackberry.
Mid palate is where the peach shines before returning to a dry tart finish.
Another Veil beer that knocks it out of the park.
Thanks Compass Rose Brew Crew!
Skol!
Speaking of Veil:
NeverRecover3-The Veil Brewing Company
Local for the delivery fellow last month
Credit-accfanfrom1970; huge thanks!!
Style-fruited gose (but I really think it's a beer smoothie)
Format-next size up aluminum cylinder from 12 ounces
Stemware-Hardywood GBS teku
Appearance-raspberry sherbet with a foamy, pink head
Nose-berries and peaches
Mouthfeel-fruity, juicy, creamy
Tastes-(boysen)berries and peach jam, a combination I don't think I've ever tasted; hint of salt; a liquid Sweetart/Sour Patch candy; (no way this stuff is beer)
Adjuncts-triple boysenberry and peach
IBU-must be <10
ABV-5.3% (yep, another Veil beer smoothie)
Overall impression-amazing combination of ingredients in an old German style ale
Ymm, Beer rating-low/mid cat 3; good pairing with a grilled bacon, chicken club sandwich; keep those Veil beers coming!!
